Well, the tubing is stock.. The Stock Z tube does not absorb heat like the CAI tubing...

The Dual Stack Velocity filter is HUGE and brings in alot of air.

Less heat, lots of air, yummy for the engine

If you are going to go with a cold air intake. go with the NISMO because it comes with the water diverter. Without it, driving in rain will be a risky deal....

No it's the safest thing for the rain. It isn't considered a CAI. Look at the other thread on this page and you will see a dynoed 11 horsepower gain on the popcharger. I ordered one from the above link this afternoon.

I did a search on the Popcharger and while there are tons of threads from back in late 2002, most claimed the popcharger reduced the HP. Said it was sucking hot air from under the hood. Said the stock airbox is superior. Is this true?

believe a dyno that was done on the same dyno for both runs and similar atmospheric conditions and no SAE numbers...

Yeah dude, not many have the consistency of that dyno. It's pretty good for accuracy, otherwise, I wouldn't have bought one.

Ya, for me it is JWT or nothing.

AEM/Injen/NISMO are all 0 gainers.

I think the Injen does produce similar gains but the popcharger is safer from calamity.

Most people with CAI are claiming 1-3HP... which is well below the measurable threshold of a dyno.

On a dyno, I am pretty positive that a CAI will get you close to nothing... Hell you have people spending 5000+ for 260-265HP at best...

Now, at speed will the CAI work? Thats a more complicated question. But on a dyno, its shows nothing.

Dont forget that the Po charger sits right in front of the intake channel. Loads of fresh air comes thru that! The heat shield also looks like it not only sheilds the filter from the engine, but also channel air to the intake from the venturi stack!

Doesn't the pop charger also alter the sound of the engine (in a good way of course )

What about the ECU compensating for the mod and reducing any performance gain?
