Default Intake Plenum.

Well time has come and gone since I installed Borla True Dual exhaust, and Injen CAI, and I've come to realize that I need more modding.

I've considered a few options, some of which are feasible, some of which are not:

Springs,
Plenum,
Wheels/tires (probably not)
test pipes (maybe...but closer to not)
Carbon fiber front lip/nismo spoiler (meh)

I do have a question after deciding to go with the plenum. Before sealing the deal, what are the warrenty issues with the plenum, if any. And what options do I have for the relocation of my front strut bar as I understand the stock peice does not fit with the modification.

I'm sure these questions have been answered before, and I ran a few searches to no avail. If so, please be patient with me.

Thanks,

-Z

I would look into high flow cats instead of test pipes and mabe at some underdrive pulleys if you want to stay NA or go with a SC or TT For some serious power.

Aggiez,

I have the plenum. I personally feel it's one of the better "bang for the buck" mods. As for warranty issues, I've yet to experience any problems for the past 3K miles. Of course, if you run into problems, you can be sure that there are no warranty; unless you switch back your stock plenum . This product carries no warranty that I know of.

As for option of the strut bar, you will have to replace it with the Crawford one if you're going with their plenum. Or you can wait for another plenum from another vendor that will preserve the stock bars.

Hope that helps.

Aggiez,

I also decided to go with the plenum myself. After doing all of the reading and asking for everyone's opinions, I have come to the conclusions that the plenum is probably the best "bang for the buck" as was stated above. I have not received mine yet because there is a wait on it due to the holidays ( was told by Doug ) My advice to you on your questions is to get in touch with Doug at Crawford and ask him, he was very helpful to me and I am pretty sure he will help you better than anyone can regarding his products.

Doug will be back in the office Monday Jan 5th.

I personally had my car in and out of Nissan Service with the plenum (and strut bar) and they had no problems. I had a power steering pump replaced, tires replaced and suspension fixes with these items installed and they said nothing other than "interesting modification".

Unless they can conclude that the aftermarket part causes a particular issue, they cannot void warranty.

I have the plenum on a "G" (no strut bar). As has been said above, I believe it's the best bang for the buck out there. As far as warranty issues go, I have had none. But I would think unless the plenum caused something to break (not likely), that warranty would not be a problem.

LSDUnique plenum is out in a month and retains the strut bar and will be less expensive. I am waiting to see what that will be like before I jump.

is that your OPINION, like you hope like hell it will be out next month, or do you really KNOW FOR SURE, that it will be out next month?
People have been waiting patiently for that for 6 months now.

I wanted to say what you said, but I was afraid I'd be accused of being pro Crawford, which, of course I am. You said what I wanted to say.

Except, Hey guys, I know choice is nice, but Crawford is here now, and it flat out WORKS.

I PMed him and got even more detailed info a few days before this thread. It is as simple as communication. It really doesn't have to be this big deal that you guys are about to make it. Just relax. Another manifold will be out very soon.

I have been sending him PM's for about six months. He has always said that he was going to do it but it was always after the current project finished up.

I honestly started to give up hope if it ever was going to happen but obviously as he recently stated, 2 will be coming out, one soon and one a bit down the road.

Its good to see that our persistence (and patience) is going to pay off!
