Default Berk HFC & CEL Lights?

Hi everyone,

I am new to the Z family and this is my first post so before you decide to chew me out for something realize you were once in my shoes too.

I had a question about the Berk Test Pipes... on their website it says that they have a "fix" to the engine light coming on. I am just curious what is this so called fix?

NOTE: I have read on here that sometimes the CEL/SES light will come on but majority of the time it will not..again this is towards 2003 owners.

Also I am ordering a Bassani True Dual Exhaust system tonight along with the Berk Test Pipes and I was just wondering if people had this set up and what their opinion on it was. Along with that will this set up increase my fuel mileage or decrease it? I am confused because I think it would increase due to the better flow but yet decrease because of the O2s being turned off the computer wont tell it how much fuel to send and it would just run rich.

I am no car expert so my logic could very well be off, please respect this

Along with that do you guys who get CEL/SES lights do you just ignore it or do you have the post CAT O2s turned off or do you just tell computer to ignore the fact that the CAT is gone...

I currently have no mods.. a bone stock Z

You just get UpRev tune after you are done w/ performance mods. Tuner can disable your sensors that are throwing the codes.

Works like magic.

people here usually don't care too much about the hp/tq numbers on exhausts and intakes, just marketing hype, get it based on sound and looks.

Who is doing the install? You,a shop?
For most minor bolt-on mods, the computer on your car will adjust to compensate
for the changes. If it were me,I'd have a shop that was expert on Z installations do the work. You are correct,Berk does have a "fix" to solve the CEL/SES problems.
Main thing is you want your car to run right after these mods.It would be good while you are at it to include a CAI and a plenum spacer at the same time.THEN get it all tuned
to take advantage of the bucks spent.Honestly, your mpg should be the same or,probably
go down since you will do more lead footing to show off!
Your car is gonna be louder with these mods.

Any CAI recommended by you JCITY? I have heard that they really do not do much.. in fact the stock air box seems to look like it has a good cold air set up. Would you/anyone else agree? I mean there is a tunnel for the filter to catch air as you all know.. this seems like the best cold air intake. Is it worth the money to get a new one or should I just drop in a K&N filter in the stock air box?

welcome i have 03, the fix will be 02 bungs to pull the 02 censor out of the increased air flow not turn them off. my gas mileage went up but very slightly, however if you like the sound you will be reaching higher revs just to listen to the sweet new sound.
