Default GReddy evo 2 + OEM rear diffuser(s)

Hi all - I just fitted a GReddy Evo 2 to my 350Z - a 2006 Grand Touring. This means it comes with an "underbody aero kit" which includes two rear diffusers, little bits of plastic behind the rear wheels basically. I think only Track/Grand Touring came with these, if I've researched correctly.

Anyway, the passenger (right) side rear diffuser had to be removed to relocate my EVAP canister, and I had just left it off...until today, I read that it is part of an aero package and actually does something!

Has anyone got any pictures (with the same exhaust) and/or advice on how to fit this back on? The reason I ask is two-fold:

1. Originally it mounts with 3 bolts, but as part of the EVAP relocation I have to remove a large bracket, which removes the mounting holes for 2 of those bolts. So it would be mounted with just a single bolt, which isn't that secure.

2. I just placed it up against where it usually sits, and it only just fits...or possibly doesn't actually fit (since I just held it up there, I can't be sure if it's got enough space). Part of it is actually resting against the muffler body...not sure how hot this bit gets, so no idea if that would be a problem.

I did a search for whatever terms/combination of terms I could think of, but couldn't find any threads covering this. However I'm from the UK (but in the US now)...so it's possible I don't know the right (US) terms to use in the search...

Haha, ok I can go get some now. I thought because they were oem parts that folks would be familiar, so I'd save myself the trouble

OK here we go. First of all, I mentioned a bracket I had to remove as well, these two pieces (bracket and the rear diffuser) were the only pieces I removed, other than bolts etc. These first pictures show these two pieces so you are familiar with what I'm working with.

The two pieces, I have laid them out so they are oriented as they would be when on the car (albeit, they get bolted together, and clearly are separate here). The car is facing upwards, in relation to the picture (I'm next to the kerb as you can see):

These next two pictures are to show how the two pieces fit together - hopefully you can see where the two bolts go through both pieces (look for the welded-on nuts on the bracket that goes on top - don't be misled by the hole on that bracket that has no welded-on nut):

This next picture shows the space where these two pieces would normally fit. The muffler that you see on the left prevents one of the brackets from physically fitting:

The last two pictures I'm trying to hold up the one piece that has a chance of fitting (note that the diffuser actually fits within the splash shield, etc that is already in place, but I am holding it up on the outside of that):

Now I also realised that this piece is not really fitting correctly. I found another thread that shows how it should be fitted (check the last few pictures): https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...tallation.html

In the pictures I took you can see there is no room to move the diffuser further towards the exhaust, at least not without cutting it up (and it would still only have one mount point).

Is it possible that these diffusers are rare enough that anyone with a GReddy evo 2 (or other exhaust that requires EVAP relocation) has not come across this?

The only reason I particularly care about this is because of reading threads like the one linked above, where it appears the diffuser makes a difference...

Nope, don't have those I've added pictures and a link to another thread I found that helps explain it. I have a feeling I'm in a minority in owning these diffusers and having an exhaust that is a problem with it. I knew for the GReddy I'd have to remove a bracket (hence the EVAP relocation) but I didn't realise it would need me to remove anything functional.

I would leave them off, you will not notice any difference with those on or off and if your exhaust is causing issues and you need to cut the pieces it would be a waste to even try

I haven't noticed any difference so far, I changed the exhaust around a week ago and have driven the car since. Although not really in a way that would highlight this.

I'm thinking I will leave the driver's side one on (not pictured above) - don't think that will be too problematic?
