Default MD shockwave TDX2 or...

So I'm trying to decide between buying the MD shockwave TDX2 exhaust or if i should take the money and just buy the XYZ resonated pipe and the ART pipes. I've heard really good things about the ART pipes and I can't afford both the Shockwave and the ART pipes. Opinions? Are the ART pipes that worth it? Keep in mind rest of the exhaust is stock.

ART not worth it.I sure would not run them with a stock exhaust.
What is your objective?Form or function(sound or performance)?
Appears that you have a limited budget.I'd opt for the Shockwave with
HFC's.

TDX2 comes with the XYZ pipe correct??

If so, get the TDX and then save up for ART pipes

Form and function, leaning even a little towards the form aspect, rest of the car is stock with the exception of the JWT clutch/flywheel. The expense right now is about 1500$ but I also have to consider that the shockwave from MD is like 1500$ to ship, guess I'll just stalk the marketplace.

Hit up Tony from Motordyne. He'll get you a quote + shipping. It won't cost you $1500 to ship. That's just crazy. If I were you, I'd pick up the the TDX and work on saving for the ART pipes and pick those up later

Why are ART pipes not worth it? They will make more power than catback...unless OP is just going for sound.

ART is well worth it, can't remember dyno #'s but was around 7WHP and 8TQ, everything else remaining constant. Wouldn't assume it's worth it if you're keeping the stock exhaust since the stock exhaust will keep bottlenecking your system.

Yes it will cost that amount. That's the price for the TDX; worth every penny! Also to the guy above^ about ARTs not worth it; combined with the full TDX you would put hfc's? Why? Save the money and get the ARTs, especially with cost of good hfc's not far off in cost of art's. Proven time and time again gains whp/tq over most anything out there no doubt.

Right on the ARTs; I can't rember the gains for the full system, but it is very impressive. I had some good talks with Tony and he's quite the guy; designed this system for a good reason.

I gained 15hp/15tq when I switched to ART pipes (from stock) with the TDXv2 exhaust, the big gripe I had with them is since I have an HR it kept having gasket blow outs...the latest gen fixes the issue though (for HR or VHR only).

Im hitting 295 whp on dynojet with tdx1 and art pipes with no tune. I think the system was well worth its price.

That is awesome rwhp with no tune! I'd recommend the UpRev kit and get it all dialed in; would put you over the 300 barrier.

Just found my old dyno sheet, gained +8.17whp and +11.59 tq when switching from stock cats to ART's, same dyno (Dynojet), all other mods consistent.

What kind of gains will the ART pipes give compared to gutted stock cats? Also how does it alter the sound? I have megan headers, gutted cats, stillen y pipe and T1r sparrow exhaust. Car is pretty quiet already, woulldn't mind a little more performance and db's.

Thanks

I'll let someone else give specifics, but the ART's have the hemholtz resonators attached on each; Tony at MD told me it's like when you blow across the top of an empty pop bottle; creates that sound due to pressure differences, but there is function involved with them, not just for sound, etc. The resonators help to scavenge back pressure and yes, your DB's would increase; you would surely get whp/tq gains. Look at a few posts above where the guy has his dyno sheet; very impressive.
