Does anyone know the real outside diameter of the piping on the AEM cold air kit, single pipe non-HR 350z? I believe it is the same as the Nismo CAI.

 

It may be the same as the NISMO because AEM makes the NISMO.
Its the same intake.

go on their site and look for the filter or bypass filters. itll tell u the diameter

the trouble with that is that usually the intake squeezes down onto the pipe with a clamp, or it may expand over a slightly larger diameter pipe, so this doesn't reveal the true diameter. i don't mind doing my homework. someone measure it please.

 

I see. I thought u wanted to kno to replace the filters. u trying to make ur own intake or something?

 

from my experience the hose flange and the pipe diameter is going to be pretty close to the same diameter. their not gonna make the hose diameter more than 3" if the pipe is 3". theyre gonna give u a 3" diameter hose for the 3" diameter pipe. if u search the bypass valve, air filter are both 3". so its safe to say the pipe is 3". also if u look at the aem instructions the hose adapter on the tb is 3.25"-3".
