He's not arguing anything. He just said that airflow may improve. There is nothing saying it won't.

If I were to argue that point I'd ask myself the question: what's better than minimally redirecting air over the front to cylinders? And I'd probably come up with the answer: Not redirecting air at all over the front two cylinders. There may only be a negligable difference, but there should still be a difference, and hey, maybe it won't be negligable. We'll have to wait to find that out, but don't get defensive because ideas are being thrown around.

Relax guys. I wasn't trying to start anything.

I just figured that if (emphasis on the if) the STB dip does cause a change in airflow, then designing one without it would be beneficial. Some 350Zers may want to keep the stock STB and overlook the negligible airflow difference.

Others, like me and other FXers have no use for the STB so a plenum without one may (emphasis on may) provide better airflow, but at the same time it will provide better looks.

That's all. Guess we can only wait and find out.......

is there any chance that the air might tumble in the plenum with a N/A application? this would not be good, and would cause much noise. has this issue been dealt with?

OK guys, heres the deal.

the vacuum leak was ONE problem with the prototype plenum. i fixed that and gave it another try.

no deal.

So, lsdunique is putting the finishing touches on a NEW, BLACK, PERFECTLY SMOOTH, FLAWLESS PLASTIC PLENUM and he is going to ship it to me overnight on thursday and as soon as i receive it I will install it and drive it like a mad man over to the dyno shop if there is still time. If there is not it will take place on monday.

YOU SHOULD ALL UNDERSTAND, THIS IS A NEW ITEM AND SOMETIMES THERE ARE A FEW BUGS. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE PERFECT AND NEXT WEEK EVERYONE WILL BE JUMPING FOR JOY WITH THIS NEW FOUND POWER!

That's a shame. Do you have any idea what the current problem is?

Good luck.

So now Friday is the magic day!!!! It ok, as long as the product is working and doing its job correctly its better for all this testing instead of rushing the product.

Hey I know you weren't and my response wasn't based in defensivism and I know you know that. Anyways, some people are always looking for a fight no matter what someone says. I hope you find a good solution to what you are looking for.

Nobody is looking for a fight. I apologize if you got that impression.

all_bark,

Sweet picture. Did you test fit the engine cover with the plenum? If so how did it fit?

thanks for the pics.. It looks like it's thicker even on the back part of the plenum when compare to stock...

I think LSD should probably come out with two different versions of the plenum. One with the dip and one without.. I removed my stb last week to replace my spark plugs and getting ready for this plenum, and I didn't notice any difference with and without the stb on street driving... "If" the plenum without the dip works better than the one with the dip, then maybe I would loose the stb and get the plenum without the dip.. guess only flowbench will find out the answer

all_bark, THANKS for the comparison pictures. They appear to show a substantial difference. Wishing you and LSD well with the dyno testing!

Also take notice in those pictures that the factory plenum material thickness is about .25". Our plastic plenum is also .25" except where it dips down for the strut bar, at that point is thins out to about .08-.1" so by minimizing clearance between the strut bar and plenum, as well as minimizing material, we are able to gain considerable volume under the strut bar.

I hope I have answered most all of the questions, as I have been on the forum about 5 times a day trying to keep up with all the questions.

Thanks...that's what I wanted to see.
I'll stick with my Crawford plenum without any airflow disturbances for the strut bar placement.
