Default Crazy grinding after exhaust install

So as you may have read I went with a cheap fix of the replica exhaust for my 05. Thing actually sounds great and fit perfect

Few days after the install I get a grinding sounding like something is rubbing against the rear wheel when I'm coming to a stop but only occasionally... Any clue what to look for when I'm under there? Just peaking under (with out jacks) it looks like everything is in place and it's not like I can view the problem as I am driving.

Thanks

which replica? make sure that for some odd reason it is not resting on one of the half shafts. i would get the car up on stands.. 4 of them, start the car and put it in gear.... crawl under and see if you can find it

As Travlee said, check the half shafts. Make sure none of the drivetrain is rubbing against the exhaust.

Put the car on jack stands and first shake the exhaust around to see if it is tapping anything. If it is then you found your problem.

Replica exhausts FTL!

If you need a quick fix and don't have your stock exhaust I have my midpipe and muffler for sale if your interested.

Thanks for the reply guys. I figured I need to just get under there a jiggle it around it's just such a pita jacking it up on 4 stands because it's lowered and I have nobody that can drive stick so putting it in gear is not an option for me. Stupid kook friends that don't know how to drive a real car lol

What are the half shafts?

And thanks for the offer but I still have my stock stuff this was the quick fix when the stock muffler rusted off the flanges and my y-pipe was mangled

I will play nice since I am at the pool with a beer. Where the rear diff is... The parts coming off it to the wheels are the half shafts

Many of the replicas will not really fit as well as you think...

Yet most of the owners on here talk garbage saying they are better than the authentic and that people that spend good money on an exhaust is stupid. I just laugh at those threads.

I had an Agency Power for a bit until I kept getting pulled over.

The quality was the best I've seen, fit like a glove and the titanium was the best material I have found. Also the welds were very clean and sturdy. I also owned a no name one for a beater I had let's say it rusted from the snow and fell off in a year.

If I wanted loud I would of either gotten the AP or Tomei. Both are awesome exhausts!

Thanks for the replys. I figured that's what the half shafts are and I'm guessing it's occasionally rubbing against it. Ughhh I just need to get a few months out of this thing until I get a new dd and can really build this and I will most certainly be going with a real exhaust.

But I must say for 200$ I'm at least happy with the sound it's not loud at all

Looks like I'm gonna have to jimmy rig it for the time being

Thanks again
