Buzzing exhaust HELP!
Hey guys I'm new to the forums. I just installed berk test pipes on my 03 350z and I am experiencing a really ricey bumblebee buzzing sound anything over 3000 RPMs. TPs are mated to a stillen true dual catback system. I have read a ton on here about others with this problem, leading me to remove the above-cat heat shields and i have torqued and inspected every single bolt and gasket. Still buzzing. My next move I'm considering is having a custom shop remove the Y-pipe portion of the stillen and custom make an H pipe. I have read that is supposed to work. I have also read that getting a tune would work. Does anybody know a SURE fire solution to this?
My mechanic told me it's because you lose back pressure when you straight pipe the z. And he said a resonator would help but I'm convinced something is wrong, especially since you have my same setup without the buzzing. I don't mind the raspy sound but it's a very loud ricer buzz above 3-4000 and I hate it!
I'm going to take some videos and try to post so people can listen. I also have a pretty big dent in the passenger side exhaust pipe right near the y junction. I'm wondering if that may cause it?
Hmm, mine has no dents . I'll probs be getting a gopro within a few days(yay for amazon prime) and ill make a short clip and post it , hopefully that can help you decide whether you think you have a problem or not.
Exhaust leaks, even the smallest of them, will dramatically change the exhaust tone.
Mine buzzes at a higher rpm, and i couldnt find a leak, so i am thinking mine is the nismo headers and s-tune exhaust together???
