Default Best headers for the money

i'm looking into headers. borla has an attractive price, 400-500 less than nismo and stillen. Are the nismo& stillen worth the money.

Are there any links to comparisons?

Thanks,
Matt

I am interested to see how DC Sports new headers will stand against the competition.

for years DC Sports has made headers for Hondas that have stacked up quite well against its JDM competitors. A lot less money for roughly the same hp gains. It will be interesting to see how well DC will do outside the Honda market.

Well, if I recall correctly, the Nismo and Stillen are equal length (as are Crawfords); the Borlas are not. I'd wait until somebody trys out the DC Sports headers (also reported to be equal length); they are crazy cheap(<$500 for stainless).

What's the difference between equal length and non. Do the non equal bolt up different?

The Xerd's have more like test pipes don't they? That would = loud and raspy.

Before deciding on headers, what other mods do you have or have planned? Headers have to be made with your cams (or future cams) in mind, as well as the rest of your exhaust.

Also, equal length does not necessarily mean better than non equal length - it depends on the rest of the setup.

Adam,
I am planning on kinetix plenum and cats, and new exhaust. Possibly a vortech next year. The more I think about things, I may pass on the headers due to the labor of the install. If headers really only benefit from new cams, and I may go FI, I may not want the headers.

Headers do not only benefit from cams. A local Z owner had some surprising results with headers and cams and what they dynoed separatley and together. I don't know if it is something she is going to post or not so I am not posting it for her. Just know that you don't need cams at all to benefit from headers A LOT and cams do not always give as much power as advertised.

Headers change depending on what other modifications you have.
We ran Nismo headers and changed to the XERD headers and gained a lot of torque.
We now have camshafts approved for our class and our needs changed.
Figure out what modifications you are going to do and then decide on the headers. It not a fun job to change them in and out.

So what headers are best with N/A bolt-ons? Looking for good midrange punch with no loss in the bottom end. Other mods include plenum, intake, maybe cats, exhuast and UR pully.

Has anyone purchased anything form Import Replacement Parts? (http://www.importrp.com/) They have DC sports ceramic headers for $274.00 including shipping--but they are not registered with the Better Business Bureau.

I gained 12.5 rwhp with my DC's. I've yet to see any headers beat that.

Don't happen to have any pics of them do you? No one has seen a pic of the DC headers yet. Did you get the coated or stainless? How were the torque gains? Have dyno sheets?

How about the XERD's with a 17 HP gain and a 16 HP / 14 TQ gain to back it? How much TQ did the DC's give?
