Default They are great.... but.....

They're coming off the car this week... I have clearance issues because of my first generation Nismo headers on the drivers side cat... They sound great, add great power but when I get on the gas the drivers side cat touches the frame.. I spoke to Labree about the issue, the only time they have had problems is with the first gen Nismo headers... Second gen headers are fine... So I have a set of Ultimate racing cats going on this week... I will be posting my Labree's for sale... they are in perfect condition....

Thanks for replying. Any idea if the DC SS Headers will pose a problem with them?

I'm listening to Adam and got the Ultimate cats. I can't wait to get them installed.

No... Only the first generation Nismo because of the weird angle the drivers side header had to get around the steering shaft.

I am considering the ultimate cats as well, along with crawfords(first on my list). Tell me how they work out. Would somone please do a flowbench test on the ultimate cat so we can see how well the magnaflow cats flow.

Nothing wrong with the Kinetix cats as an item.
The problem is when you mount the cats to the supporting bracket after a while due to movment the cats split where the brackets have been welded on to the cats. This will throw a CEL light.
My advice is to not use the brackets at all.
I have cut the brackets off now rewelded my cats and have had no further problems.

That is where mine cracked as well, on both of them. The problem with not putting the bracket on, is that the cats would touch the heat shield on both sides. The bracket pulled them awayfrom the heat shield JUST barley enough after bending the heat shield out of the way. Needless to say, they both cracked, threw a CEL light, they were raspy before the cracking, AND after of course, and they ended up touching the heat shield anyways and making other horrible noises.

The bad part, if that's not bad enough anyways, I had to leave them on the car for a week because I was on vacation. Very frustrating.

Yeah mine was bent all the way back as well, the guy installing it was commenting on how bad they fit too. I guess some just may be worse then others.
