Default pop Charger?

I am new to the forum just starting to mod my 350Z and I was looking at the pop charger I only been able to find one pic of it it looks like its just a heat shield and a filter and at 100 dollars if thats all it is that WAY over priced it my opinion so I am just curious if thats really all thats included with the pop charger?

When compared to the other intakes out there, the popcharger is a bargain. It also helps that it gives more performance gains than the others. While it's not as showy as the Injen, Nismo, and others, it adds up to 6.5 HP to the wheels. I just had mine put in and I love it. It sounds really good too. If you are into show, it's not for you, but if you only care about performance, it's the one for you.

To answer your question, yes that is all that is included. JWT reasoning is that the stock pipe is great, so why replace it.

I had the AEM and replaced it with the PoopChanger... love it. Sounds good and works better then the AEM. My throttle response has increased signifiantly. I hated the AEM because you couldn't oil the damn thing and you pick up TONS of road grim due to location. If you want a lil boost and don't want to replace the stock box drop in a K&N Filter. If you are looking for a lil bump then get the JWT - good bargin and good product.

I don't really see that as a goo bargin being you can go buy your own cone filter for a cheap one 20 or a good one K&N for 50 and have the same affect, unless someone has dyno charts to prove otherwise

Sorry... dynos are available, however, the search feature is not. It has been proven time and time again. The popcharger w/ heatshield is the best intake solution available...

Guess you'll have to take the words of ppl who have been posting years or try http://www.jimwolftechnology.com... hmm that's an idea, eh?

no what I am saying is does it make a 6.5 gain over just sticking a k&n on there? I belive you when you say it will make 6.5 over stock.

Yes--over stock. This was done on a stock Z by a magazine...maybe 6 months ago. I don't recall any dynos done comparing a K&N replacement filter vs. stock, although some guys have mentioned 2hp increase, which is really a tossup (wihin dyno error).

Read through the forums, if after reading all that has been posted about the popcharger, you still don't want one, get something else. I love mine, sounds great, felt a little at top end. I just installed a grounding kit last night, idle is nice and smooth now and so is acceleration.

Also, dear god why hath you forsaken our search feature, it seems as though there are 10 new posts a day asking about the popcharger since it has been down!!!

The pop charger is definitely the best bang for the buck, especially compared to your other options.

PS: If $100 for a mod concerns you, you probably need to go ahead and sell the Z now. $100 probably won't cover the tax on most mods for this car.

I was just curious about it cause it seems dumb to me to spend so much money on something that can be had for half the money, and spending a 100 bucks on a mod is no problem I have a 02 wrx also and just spend 100 buck on door handles cause they are sti (wich may sound really dumb to a lot of people also)
I am just wondering cause you guys say something so simple is the best performance, and you aren't buying it for the way it looks so why spend soo much more on this one when this could be a do it your self mod?

You can probably purchase a cheaper cone filter, but how are you going to bolt it up to the MAF unit? The aluminum housing is aircraft quality. Not saying that it's worth the price, but all performance equipment has a huge markup, perhaps because the market is small, especially for the Z cars. At least you'l see results with this purchase. How many times in the past have you purchased something that didn't really deliver on all the promises?

It's not just a filter and a shield, JWT and Stillen use a cool machined venturi ring that is the basis for their intakes and is why they actually work unlike most others.

Seems like you are trying to talk yourself out of it. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Everyone that has the PopCharger would agree that it is the best bang for the bucks.

There is the DIY approach You can create one for cheaper however you have the "cost of time" factor in the mix. You can just buy it for $100 bucks... put it on and try it and if you don't like it ship it back if you don't like it.

It's worth it... It's worth it... It's worth it...

How about now?

Go make your own intake then. There are several people that have done so w/ sucess. JWT Popcharger is great, high quality material used, comes w/ a good heatshield, and there's a company backing the product.
