What did you do with the stock exhaust after replacing it?

I am thinking of replacing the stock exhaust with the Nismo. Not for power or sound, I just want something that looks good and not too loud.

Anyways, I am curious as to what you guys did with the stock exhaust after replacement? I am thinking that it would just take space in the garage. Is there a market for stock exhausts? Otherwise, I would just give it to the dealer/installer, if they want it.

you want to get an exhaust just because it looks good? no offense, but if that is the sole reason u are getting an exhaust, save your money.

as for what you do when u get ur exhaust swapped for aftermarket. it's probably best to keep it, and reinstall it when u sell ur car. do not just give it to the dealer. if u still want to get rid of it. sell it on here/ebay.

I haven't got an exhaust for my Z, but for my previous cars, I always stored my stock exhaust, and put it back on when I was to sell the car
cause you don't get much money from the stock exhaust...

I kept my intake and exhaust because the the lesson I learned in the past. I put a CAI and a Bilstein Coil-Over system($1500 total) on my old GTI. I traded it in about a month later for the Z. The dealer have me the same price as they would for a stock GTI. I could have re-installed the stock parts for $300 labor and sell the parts for good money instead of losing the whole $1500. Just thinking about it makes me sick. That's alotta gas money I just lost.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to leave the stock exhaust to the dealer.

Like I said, I am getting the Nismo just to have a shiny can on the rear of my DB. The look of the stock exhaust did not bother me until I saw the Nismo. After that, I keep noticing the ugly black stock can and that of other cars (even non-Zs) on the road! I will get the Nismo on my next oil change.

Is there a scrap metal place that recycles these things? I still have my old Stock BMW exhaust from 1994 sitting in my folk's garage and a few old bent rims that aren't worth repairing.
