Default Newbie exhaust questions / suggestions

I'd like to upgrade my exhaust. I would like something that looks similar to the stock but performs little better. Any suggestions?

I was considering the Borla TD. I hear alot of people are happy with it. I found one on a site for $750 but now I can't find any site that has them.

How much would the exhaust cost to install or should cost? And I don't need to retune the engine do I?

Does the Borla sound good if you heard it? Meaning louder then stock but still drivable on daily basis. Any help would be appreciated.

There's lots of info on the Borla set up. Check with some of the vendors on prices, I'm sure at least one of them will get you a good deal.

Install is easy, and is something you could probably do yourself, even if you've never touched a car before. And no, you won't need any kind of retuning.

It sounds great--it's slightly louder and a little deeper than the stock exhaust, but really only gets "loud" when you get on it.

Definately go with the Borla. It has the stock look plus it sounds similar to stock, slightly louder and deeper. I couldn't be happiier, plus i got 13hp dynod at the wheels. Check out Nopi.com i believe they also carry it.

Good luck

I was considering the Boral TD as well but I'm torn between the NISMO, BORLA & STILLEN. Here's a place I found for around the price you got quoted for but they have FREE SHIPPING....... Good luck.

Borla Dual Exhaust System(Part Number:140045) $759.00 FREE SHIPPING@

I put the Borla on..I love the sound and performance...not earth shattering. mind you, but there is some added performance indeed. It's a super easy install if you can find someone with a lift, otherwise the quotes I got were 88 bucks from my Nissan Dealer (Sheridan in New Castle, DE) and 75 from Meineke...I decided on Meinike, and watched them do it, It only took 25 min...super super easy...If you can get access to a lift do it yourself with a buddy.

??? Hmmm, with 17 parts, I really don't think the install is "super easy." Most reveiws have given it one of the most difficult to install as far as exhausts go. I agree that it can be done at home, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's super easy.

The Borla does give good gains and is relatively inexpensive. Not a bad choice.

I went with the Stillen though. Only 3 pieces, obtains just as much gains, and is one of the only exhausts to give significant gains in torque. In Sport Z mags evaluation of several exhausts, Stillen put out several pounds of torque compard to Borla's 1 pound gain.

Then it goes into the weight factor. Borla is lighter than stock, Stillen is 10 lbs heavier. I got rid of my cat and installed race pipes so the weight did not bother me. Those friggin catelitic converters are monsterous and very heavy.

If anything, try contacting Borla themselves. If they are not in your state you won't pay taxes. Stillen matched a price I found on the net and I paid $0 in taxes since they are in Cali and I am in Texas.

I went with the injen and just got it installed today. It sounds nasty the car sounds sick. I can feel the gains just by driving it, and the qaulity it very impressive also. Everything went together perfectly, and their are no rattles. Injen designed this exhuast to fit perfect and in fact it even fits better then stock.
