Default just got a crawford plenum, should it look like this?

i bought it from a member, it's one of the earlier versions, not sure which one

it looks very rough like people have said in the past (i don't care what it looks like) but i just wanna post a few pics to make sure

also there is grease that i haven't cleaned off yet on the inside... is this supposed to be there?

plenum (the left side seems kind of uneven, maybe it's supposed to be like that?)

inside of the plenum

p.s. anyone know where i can find install instructions? i only have 1 bolt (center hole) i think i'm supposed to purchase 2 more to cover the holes on the inside leftover from the original plenum

and should i re-use the stock gasket? every "car guy" i've talked to told me this is a bad idea, but it seems like everyone here uses the stock gasket...

The plenum looks fine. It is odd that it has what looks to be oil on it though. Just clean it up and slap it on. You should have received some bolts with the plenum and a support post that goes where that hole is. If you did not receive any of this you may want to call Doug at Crawford to find out what size bolts you will need to get and see if there is a way to purchase the other pieces from him. As for the gasket, I used the stock one without any problems, just be careful as to not damage it. You can purchase another one at the local nissan shop and double them up for added security if you would like.

I thought I heard someone say to keep the stock and add a new one with it... I donno; seems odd to have 2; but I think I read that somewhere. might only apply to kinetix plenum.

whatever the oil is; if it was an issue; itd be whosever car it was. clean it up and it wont matter for you.

Try this link for installation instructions.
Call Doug at 615-327-4159 with questions or if you did not receive the hardware needed, as I'm sure he will help.

I believe that the "support posts" are made specifically for each plenum. You will most likely have to send the plenum to Doug so that he can make one for you. (At least that is what he told me about a year ago).

The oil is from the pcv system all Z have it. Unless you installed a catch can.

If I was to install a ctch can where would I connect it to and from to prevent that oil in the intake?

In the blow by hose on the right front of the head to upper intake and another one on the left rear head that runs to the intake tube before throttle body. So really you would need two catch cans. But if I had my guess the one on the right head causes more oil (less distance to travel than the left head) So maybe one would be enough.

thanks for all the info

i have a question about the install and the parts:

according to the instructions, i'm missing a bunch of parts... can i manage w/ the install if i only have this bolt? (pic below) i thought the only extras i have to buy are 2 short bolts to cover the leftover holes on the inside, and maybe a gasket

here's a list of the parts in the instructions:
1 Powder Coated Plenum
1 Aluminum spacer tube
1 long M6 10mm bolt
2 short M6 10mm bolts
2 lock washers
2 normal washers
2 Harness relocation holders
1 strut bar (optional)
2 strut bar brackets (optional)
2 Hiem joint connectors (optional)
2 Hiem joint lock bolts (optional)
2 Bracket to bar connecting bolt/nuts (optional)
2 replacement long bolts for bracket (optional)
4 replacement short bolts for bracket

i also have the crawford strut and the 6 bolts needed to install it, other then that i only have this bolt (pic) for the plenum
