Nismo, sounds exactly like stock, but you can save a G and keep it stock. The power is in the Y-pipe, because our mufflers arent really restrictive at all.

so the point is in buying a y pipe not another muffler? kind of like buying a pop charger with just the head since there is no restriction with the rest of the intake?

I believe there is a restriction at the y pipe and the cats, the rest from there is pretty good. You can get those two parts for less money than an exhaust with more gains. The sound should get a little louder but still mostly stock.

Ditto on the NISMO sounding close to stock.

While the nismo may be tame by somes standards, consider this. I drive both a bone stock 350ZR along w/ a 350Z coupe on a daily basis. The modified coupe (JWT and Nismo exhaust) is hands down A TON louder than the stock Z. The stock Z feels and sounds lame compared to my modified Z. These two mods have yielded significant gains. I don't have dyno numbers to back this up, but the feeling between these cars is very different. And its not just noise HP its definatly power.

I just had a Borla TD installed yesterday and it sounds quite close to stock albeit much deeper and a few db's louder. Feels like the car picks up a little quicker too. Of course that part is likely to be my imagination.
