Just rinse it under water. Let it dry and use JWT oil (blue)afterwards.
You can also get the K&N filter cleaning kit, it has the oil and another spray for cleaning, but K&N oil is red.

Is that something you can get at a auto parts shop or strictly online?

I'ma pass by Discount Auto Parts and Autozone (right next to each other) and look for the Accel Kool Blue filter cleaning kit. It suppose to be exactly like the K&N cleaning kit but it comes with blue oil.

The K&N kit you can find at any local autoparts store (K&N has red oil)... for the blue oil JWT I think you need to order it online, at least that's what I did.

definitely remember to repray the filter after washing it with water

btw... does anyone know roughly how miles we can go before cleaning the pop charger? i know it depends on where you drive (how dusty, moist etc...) but just trying to figure out a ballpark figure

Whenever you filter looks really dirty, clean it. I clean it every 6-8 weeks.

Hi
You should use a cleaning solution like the K&N cleaner stuff, Simple Green or one of the Orange/Citrus cleaners should work, but not too strong a solution, and rinse really well. You need to get the oil off along with the dirt.
I service my K&Ns about every 3-4000 miles. Takes about 10 minutes to clean, and a couple hours to dry. Then respray and install.
Good luck

ou do not have to remove the whole Pop-Charger from the MAF Housing. There is a large clamp that holds the filter element on the velocity ring. Loosen this clamp and remove the filter. Rinse the filter from the Inside-Out (have water flow out of the filter in the oposite direction in which the air travels into the filter). Rinse until the water runs clear. Let the filter element dry for 30-40 Minutes (sitting over crumpled up newspaper helps speed the drying process). Once the filter is dry, apply oil to the out side of the filter (do NOT over oil). Let the filter dry for another 45 minutes. If any white spots appear apply another spray of oil and let dry. Once the filter is dry and no oil is dripping, re-install the filter and tighten the clamp
