Default Check out what the dealer did for me!

Nothing!

I dropped the Z off for (1) Driver Window won't go up/down (2) Streaks on driver window and (3) Warranty Alignment to prevent wear on my nice new tires.

They told me they can't replicate the problem on the window. It works fine. Funny that it hasn't worked for me for 2 days! Before that it was sporadic. They didn't say anything about the streaks, and I forgot to ask.

They also said that they can't give me a free Warranty alignment because the tread looks good on my tires!! I had already told them my tires were only 2 months old. I want an alignment to prevent them from being ruined.

While I was there I said something about the letter from Nissan, and that I bet they were getting inundated with Z's. The service guy said, "Not really". Yet as I look at the service parking area, there were Z's everywhere! What's with these people anyway.

I was just awestruck by this waste of time, and thought I'd share.

Crap. Go to another dealer. Or just print out the TSB's and go back to this one.

Although...my rear hatch wasn't opening on 1 press of the button. It took 2 long presses usually. But that was when it was cold. When I brought it in, they couldn't replicate it because it was fudging 80 degrees out. My hatch works fine now (it's damn hot currently) but once it gets cold again, I'm going back!

Do you mean the trunk release button on the car, or the trunk release button on the remote? Because it takes me 2 pushes of the remote button to open the trunk but one of button on the car.

I agree about Nissan service. I took my '03 in for rear axle ticking. They said they would fix that and the window streaking. They had it for about a week and said they were waiting on parts so I picked it up. They said they would call me as soon as the parts came in. That was over a month and a half ago. Every time I call them they just tell me they are still on back order. It's a shame.... I guess nissan is probably going to have to stop production of 350z's since there isn't any axle bearings left in the world.

I took mine in for the axle clicking and an hour and a half later it was done.

Default Rims damaged by dealer changing tires?

I took my Z in to get the front tires changed this week - in response to the letter from Nissan. When I got home I immediately noticed one of the rimms was badly chewed up for a distance of about 4 inches. Has anyone else had this problem??

With all the bad nissan dealers here in north america, how are the dealers in say europe and asia? What I would really like to know is, how are the japanese nissan dealers? Same, better, worse?

They fixed my window motors, window streaking, and crackling Blose tweeter in about 3 hours. Just gotta get a good dealer.

My dealership service dept has been just that. A total waste of time. As a result i consider my car to have virtually no warranty since i cannot get them to fix anything. TSB's are useless as they just blow them off. Unfortunately the only other nissan dealer in this area is 50 miles away.

Both. The trunk button works more reliably but it fails on the first press also....weather dependent of course.

a temporary fix for the window not going up or down is to hold up or down on the switch then bang the door right above the switch (where the motor is) and it'll go up or down everytime.

you need a new window motor...go somewhere else and have them replace it!!!

There is a TSB for the trunk release problem. Look it up. Also, if you don't want to bother with the dealer on that one issue, you can fix the problem yourself by inserting 2 pennies in each spring. See thread below:
