Does anybody know where to get actual brushes? i had too much free time on my hands this week so i experimented with few motors. first one i just kinda broke to see how it comes apart then 2nd one was cake. if anybody wants i can get brush dimensions so we can just pop new ones in and go another year lol.

if anybody knows where to get them please post up and i will get the dimensions.

^^ That might be our best option! Sad but so true.

Earlier in this thread I ask if there was any difference between the 03-04 motors vs the newer version. I didn't get an answer so I'll find out.

IS ANYONE HAVING MOTOR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 06-07?

I recently did a job where we stripped two brand new 350z donated from Nissan and prepare them for track use. (These cars will be covered in future NissanSport issues)

There were many new changes in the door design from the 07 to the 03. I'll take a closer look at the window motor and see if there's any difference.

ive used 05 G35 motor in my 03 they are identical inside and out. and replaced 06 G motors, moticed that new motors i install have better timing where resetting them is much easyer but guts are still the same.

I'm pretty sure that they are the same. I was hoping that Nissan heard our cries and did something about it, such as the rattle issues.

Even if there were changes, I'm sure that they are very miniscue and that one would have to examine with a careful eye to see it.

^^ I wonder if they change for the better. I guess it can't be as bad as we have it now.

i think as long as they keep using same material for the brushes they will go out real soon. i just think they are too damn soft.

... i dont think fact that they are made in Philippines helps anything

Dilemma: Local AutoZone says motor has to be sepcial ordered, $185 up front (no biggie) then $40 back for core ($145), but their supplier does not have any in stock! So I went to my local Advanced Auto Parts store. They were like $20 cheaper even after only $25 for core, but *their* supplier is out of stock! WTF! Of course local Nissan dealership has one in stock (I assuming new not a refurb like AZ or AAP) -- $235 and I think only a 12 month/12k miles warranty. Do all AutoZone stores have the same corporate suppliers? So if I drove further away and went to a different AZ store would they tell me the same thing? Same question for AAP?

What is the recommendation? Keep trying to go to the "cookie jar" and do the whack the door panel method in hopes that AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts suppliers will get them in stock relatively soon or bite the bullet and get the one from the stealer?
I am in the same dilema! Please Help anyone else having this problem with AZ????? I need to fix my window asap however they have no motors in stock both AZ and their supplier... I found other places selling the motor however they only offer a 1 year warranty. Any ideas here??

Thanks,

Alex

http://catalog.autopartsgiant.com/Re...autopartsgiantI did find this link to the part needed w/a 1yr warranty. I would love to get the AZ motor however simply because of the lifetime warranty, is there any other companies out there that anyone knows of that offer lifetime as well?

I have no problem repairing the existing motor but that is just a temporary fix cleaning the brushes contact points and so forth, I want a new motor and to be done with this a least for a while.

Due to time constraints I ended up going to the local dealership's parts counter. I installed the new motor and a friend offered to clean my existing one. So now I can keep swapping them as needed and cleaning as I have time (or have a core ready to get $40 off immediately when I order from AZ or $25 off when ordering from AAP).

Its amazing how disgustingly filthy my original motor was for only 25K miles on the clock and only being an 03! There should be a recall on this poor design that will plague long-term owners.

Does the fact that I have 2k posts offend you or something? I don't see why my simple statement could made you so upset that you have to personally attack me? Did I pwn you in the past or something? If so, I apologize. +1 post count! YAHHH!!!

lol no i didn't get offended and i didnt mean to personally attack you sorry if it came out that way...you caught me at the wrong moment.its just that you instructed someone to fix something obviously not knowing much about the issue and what it takes to fix it ...besides knowing what malfunctioning part is . i mean seriously, how is that helping the issue which people have been discussing nearly 10 pages

now good day sir!

Sk8fe, i got 2 spare motors sitting around if you want one for core charge 19.99 shipped each. lmknw

So I replaced my Drivers Side Window motor and made sure that the window was aligned properly in the track, however when I got the door all put back together and rolled the window up (with the new motor) I could hear a loud clicking noise coming from somewhere in the door either the motor or pully system? Anyhow the clicking continued while rolling the window up or down and now this morning I rolled down the driverside window and it wouldnt come back up again! WTF! motor and window were installed properly with the step by step tutorial.. any ideas whats causing this resistance/clicking noice while the window would be going up and down? Apparently whatever it was caused the motor to stop working now again the brand new one! I swear I'm just going to roll AC all day never use the window again if I manage to get it up.

PLEASE HELP!

Alex

Great Thread!! I have an 03' and the passenger side window has decided to die. I'll probably end up going with the autozone part simply because I'm seeing that it's only a temporary fix and I'm in the process of trying to sell the car *tear*. I can't handle someone buying it and it dying on them later.

What really stinks is because unknowingly the window wasn't working properly, and a unknowing passenger didn't notice the window was way to high to shut the door. They shut the door and the window was to high to fit into the space allowed. Thus hitting the A Pillar (exterior trim) and cracking the piece that runs above the window. ARRGH! $387.00(bodyshop) + $140 for the autozone motor. *sigh*

WOW! Talk about bad luck! That sux big time. If AZ's corporate suppliers show as being in stock for this item let us know. When I had this problem this past fall, both Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts supplier's were out of stock (they wouldn't say, but it sounded to me like they both used the same corporate supplier) and they could not tell me when they would be in stock. I couldn't wait so I had to buy mine at my local stealership -- only 12 month/12k miles warranty. Since then I cleaned my original passenger motor as discussed here.

I know this is not a classified thread, but it is a HELP thread, so if I am out of line, correct me....

I am switching to Percy's Speed Glass Side windows, so I have both the driver and passenger side window, switches and well basically the whole set up for both sides. It anyone is having a hard time getting replacement parts all of mine are functioning perfectly, so I would be willing to part these out. Just shoot me a PM.

While we are on the subject, I am going to be speaking with Percy's about making an OEM replacement. This lighter glass may make it easier on the motors and make them last longer! - I'll try an keep you updated.
