Window Motor Repair (replace motor brushes?)
#381
so i have the brushs and they fit. I need to do a small amount of trimming and solder everything back together then i'll be done. I'll be done tonight with this.
The old brushes are so worn it's not even funny. they were maybe a few mm long and the spring wasn't making contact with them to push them against the armature. Replacing the brushes on this really isn't that hard. If they made a brush kit like every other manufacturer on the market it would be a simple 30$ fix.

A quick update to anyone looking for brushes:
I sourced brushes from Mcmaster Carr, they were 9 dollars a pair. They are 3/16 x 3/16 x 1/2 (W x H x L)
Although the brushes will not fit directly w/o a little modification, i felt this was the path to go.
You have to modify ( .163 x .178 x .4) by using sandpaper on a flat surface. This took 10 minutes. You also have to cut the braiding from the original brush and solder it to new brush to make the length.
The upside is that the braid comes out from the bottom similar to the original.
