Default HEADLIGHt! Help remove??

Well,.My HID's finally came(Phillips D2R) and I'm ready to hook them, up(yes, base model here),.but have to remove the Bulb and the headlight for that matter--Has anyone messed w/ the bulb's yet? You can't see **** in there(behind the headlight)--but either way,..Who knows how many bolts are holding the headlight in there??
Also,.where are the stock HID ballasts mountd on your Z's??

Please help,..
THANX!

Hope to tackle this by this weekend!

The headlight bulbs are accessed by removing the wheels and the inner fender liners. there is a sealed cover on the back of the light fixture turn it counter clockwise to remove. your original bulb is a H-7 on low-beam so a D2R bulb will not fit in to replace it. The factory ballast is mounted on the bottom of the light fixture.
Find yourself a Factory Service Manual, they are very valuable to answer questions like this.

Talking I also hooked it up

I put a 7000k HID kit on both the low beams and the highs. Bi-xenon set-up.

So bright and looks much better than the stock Hid set-up.

Aloha

Here are the pics of my Xenon High Beams install.

Mr. fairlady... How did you order your D2R bulbs? being that u have a base model without the xenon, you will need to order from a company that places a D2R bulb in the H7 frame. That way the bulb will fit nicely. I had to do this for my high beams. They are a D2R bulb with a H7 base.

To make the wires go to the bulbs, you will need to make a small hole on the side of the headlight assembly. Then using a rubber spacer/seal run the wires into the assembly. With this rubber boot, you will guarentee a water tight fit.

Short...who was your kit made by? How did you do the install? any pics? Because to teh best of my knowledge, xenon bulbs come in 4200K, 6000K, and 8000K. You attach a pic using the atach file below your post(when your replying to a thread). I would like to see a 7000K high beam.

you will have to drill the headlight housing. there is no way around it. Nissan engineers designed the headlight assembly as one unit. With an access panel to service the bulbs.

DVLAD is right, no way around the drilling. but it seals up easily with a rtv type sealant.
no worries.
these are the best kit's that I have seen though for a really good price, being that it is hella ballast and phillips bulbs.
just my opinion, I'm no expert.

I also had to file out the headlight housing a lil bit for the highs to fit properly. but low beam fit perfect

I got the high beams from HIDS4LESS.COM
I Do Not reccomend them
Much inferior product

ALOHA,
time to surf

For my 2004 Touring Z, do you guys reccomend www.mrjung.com for purchasing 6000K/8000K D2R replacement bulbs...I'm not a big fan of the OEM 4200K Xenon HID's...I would rather prefer a blue'er color (although I understand it's not as "functional" as the OEM bulbs) to match my Daytona Blue exterior. Please post your recomendations as to whether I should go for a 6000K, 7-7500K, 8000K bulb to achieve that blue color, where you got the bulbs from, if I get the D2R is it really plug and play (no adapters, etc)?? Thanks!!

I have been also looking at www.hidking.com , and www.plasmagarage.com .....HID King retails the "Volcano" brand bulbs for the cheapest price online/and on eBay $135/pair. Plasma Garage sells some 8000K blue D2R brand bulbs for like $190/pair...thanks for your input all!!
