As for people getting heavier counter weights added to the wheel, do you think that Nissan's wheel balancing machine may not have been calibrated, so they were putting the wrong weights on? This could be a possibility. Have others with this problem gotten their wheels/tires rebalanced, and if so, were they off?

So I did a test and did exactly what the TSB says as far as if the car drifts over one lane in less than 7 seconds at highway speeds. Hey guess what, it does. That nifty stopwatch came in handy. My car changed lane completely at 4.5 seconds. I'll have them perform the remedy according to Nissan and see if it solves the problem.
I also talked to him about in regards to the double amount of weights on the right tires. He says that this is normal and I took delivery on the vehicle with these already on. Since I couldn't quite remember or prove that this wasn't so I let it go. But he assured me that this will not harm the vehicle in any way.
[B]You could have an air bubble in the brake line of the opposite side which it pulls...meaning one side is getting more clamping force than the other. You could ask the service guys to bleed the brakes to see if this is the case, and it should be easy to do.

Has anyone else had Nissan deny tire replacement because the tires are not making "enough" noise?
Nissan Tech told my dealership to not replace my tires which are now feathered on both the outside and inside after the swapping. Their reasoning was that the dealership did not notice a difference in the tire noise from a new car and my car.
Nevermind the fact that I took the car there for them to talk to Nissan Tech to figure out why it's feathering. Now they are in a protect ourselves mode. This is the first time in all my many dealings with Nissan related to the issues with my car that they have taken this type attitude...it's not messed up bad enough.
Just wondering if any of you others are having similar responses

It says the following VIN range is a possible braking and noise issue:
TSB Applied Vins:
A) Vehicles built before: JN1AZ34E93T004958
B) Vehicles built before: JN1AZ34D63T104023
I guess I don't know how to really read this, but I'm currently shopping now (and can't find a deal under MSRP I'll add)
and the VIN on the car I'm interested in has 019162. Isn't this before the B range? But the dealer told me that it just came in from Japan.
Is the '1' after the 'T' an identifier? And should I not even care cause this is all BS?

But as long as it's in a different sequence (next two letter/numbers) then my chances of avoiding this issue is greater, I assume?
He then patronizes me that there is no deal under MSRP in this side of the world. What an (_!_). So, I won't be pursuing a car in that dealer.
I know that Vistory Nissan in Richmond VA, has over one dozen of these babies collecting dust of their lot, in every color.
I would imagine that they are willing to make a deal below MSRP.
I know it's about a 5 hour drive from NJ straight down 95.

Example my car is in the 7XXX range I have have the feathering problem (built in Nov 02). I believe some owners have the same problem with vin ranges in the 6000 range and perhaps as high as 9000.

I have heard that some dealerships are blaming the reoccuring feathering on normal wear because it's a sports car. And based on their normal wear position, they are refusing to replace feathered tires.
Since I am not a tire expert, I'll ask the question here. The problem discussed in this forum pertains only to front tires, and I haven't read any issues related to rear tires.
But, wouldn't "normal wear" also impact rear tires to the same extend as the front if everything else was equal, meaning no allignment problem existed in the front?

I am trying to get time to bring it in to look at the second set of featherd tires before we go to the lemon law. You should not have a problem buying a car under MSRP. All the dealers in Atlanta are offering for less, so I assume there are other dealers doing the same. Don't get me wrong, there is not a lot off, but they are negotiating.
As far as the VIN numbers are concerned, just know that we are all watching the brakes and tire wear carefully. That is the good thing about the website.

talking to a front end man in a top notch shop he says they have after market kits for many of the cars to correct the no camber/caster adjustments.
we looked at my Z and can't figure out what they are going to come up with. the only option we see is replace the bushings on the lowet arm with excentrics or change the upper arm completly. also these bridgstone tires have a tread pattern that cannot handle the camber we have.
maybe michelin tires will wear better
when my turn comes I am not going to go to the dealer for a head banging I am going to have a 4 wheel alignment done and switch the two front tires
when the are worn out I will go to michelin tires.

only 1500 mi

And the VIN is T110951. So I think I'm safe with that range. The killer is it's $1551 under MSRP with 300 miles on it. Is that a deal? I think it is and I'm thinking of picking it up tomorrow.

my vin is 104848! Am I in trouble or in the clear? I have feathering on bothside of my front and rear tires! The fronts have had the tires fliped from one rim to the other and the rears have not! But the feathering has come back after the tire flip on the front making the feathering on both sides of the tire now! What does this mean? What does my VIN have to do with this problem?
For everyone that has this problem, have you had your allignment fixed? If so did the problem return? This is where I am right now. I had my allignment fixed at about 500 miles. So far (knock on wood) I'm not showing any problems.
I'm also having the control rod replaced on my vehicle next week to fix the DRIFTING TO THE RIGHT TSB.

The VIN # range is a bunch of BS. I am almost certain that those who currently don't have the problem will get it when the miles accumulate. Your dealer a BS-ing with you. Swapping tires doesn't solve jack, they should have recommended an alignment AND replacement for FREE. I would contact NNA (1800NISSAN1) about this. Don't wait any longer, there is a backorder for the tires. Demand a replacement.

It's good thing that I brought it in for an allignment early, this is one problem that hopefully I don't have to deal with.
