I also get back my sales tax and extended warranty fees as well. I think their bill is going to be about 50k with attorney fees, which they pay as well.

With the price of gas and in particular premium, I guarantee you that the mechanics back in the shop have rigged up a system to get all that free gas from these Z's into their cars.
They must be loving this recall.

what do you expect......nissan only pays them two and a half hours for the fuel hose replacement.
dropped the z off for the recall yesterday morning... took them all day. Looks like they did a decent job....no surprises.

If the notice says bring it with 1/2 tank and you bring it with more, that is more work for them to empty it and those fellows have every right to it.
Speaking of gas, my area just topped $3/gallon for premium for the first time EVER today.
These gas prices could really kill SUV sales (not just dent them) and that sure would make me happy to get those dinosaurs off the road.
Maybe I have just become cynical but when I watch some lady wrestle a Cadillac Escalade, which does not even have a trailer hitch on the back, into a grocery store parking lot, I just start chuckling to myself these days asking under my breath - WHY?
I just hope these gas prices do not put a damper on the manufactureres producing some of the cool cars being shown as prototypes at the car shows.
My Z gets sold when I can buy that new Hemi Dodge Challenger when it is released in 2007/2008.

I called the shop as they JUST finished the exploding fuel line TSB and told them that I can't fill the tank all the way.

Hopefully they will know of the bulletin and replace that o-ring. If not I will PRINT the bulletin and bring it in.
Man I wish I had the time to go to Performance Nissan for this but I am slammed at work and HAD to go local. So far so good though.

Thanks for posting that link.
NOw I know why my rear view mirror never gets very dark.
I was hating that mirror since even when I could tell it was dimming, it was not enough and I had to manualy twist it up out of the way and I wished for the good old fashioned day/night switch.
Since I thought it was supposed to work this way ie. a cruddy design, I never said anything about it.
Now that I see those 2 sensors, I am going to permanenlty block the front one and the thing may finally work as I wished it would.
Great stuff - I am going through the other TSB's to see what I am missing.
Again, thanks!!
Took my Z in for the fuel hose fix this past Friday. So far, everything's been just fine since the repair was done. No new random noises coming from the drivetrain, no acceleration issues, and no random dealer-inflicted damage.

If they replace that I still won't be able to fill all the way. I told them I verified this by keeping track of my actual miles with the trip computer. Has nothing to do with a busted sending unit. It's not a FORD for godsake!

So the service person said they would tell the mechanic this. When she calls back if they still insist, I will fax them the bulletin.

My recall is done.
Drove the car around, on bumps, on the highway, at low speeds. Checked the undercariage and exhaust system briefly, looks good. Nothing abnormal found yet (knock on wood).
Happy time!
