Nissan Recall on 52,400 350Z's

After reading through almost this entire thread (I just couldn't do it all), you guys have me half scared to death! 
Only ONE positive comment about Nissan dealer service?
I just got my '03 a week ago and they told me they had done THREE recall services on it:
1) this gas tank/ gas hose issue
2) replaced the transmission about 25K miles ago
3) fixed the so-called "tire feathering" problem I've heard so much about
(Looks as if the previous owner had it well taken care of)
But I am absolutely terrified now . . . . PLEASE somebody, tell me something GOOD . . . PLEASE tell me I didn't make a mistake. This is my "mid-life crisis" car that I've wanted all my life!

Do you have issues with your car? Does it run well? If the problems have been taken care of, I don't see reasons to worry.

But seriously, it seems most of you guys have a very low opinion of the quality of service you get from Nissan dealerships! This seems to be the case no matter where you live.
That's what really bothers me. Although I did a lot of reading about the "Z" before I bought one, I never thought much about service quality, or knowledge, at Nissan dealerships.

Recalls.
My Z is a 03 that has had all of the recalls taken care of. I will have to say that my dealer has been good about doing all of the recalls with no complaints from me. My Z runs great compared to other cars I have owned. The worse cars I have owned have been a 76 Triumph TR7 and an 82 Pontiac Trans Am that where both in the shop more than on the road. I had a 77 280Z that was also a great car with no problems at all.

Well guys, I was one of the skeptical many who said that they would hold off on getting this recall work done unless I had a problem. I got my recall notice way back in April and stuck it in a drawer.
I had to break it out this week. When I fill my tank up, fuel LEAKS ALL OVER THE GROUND!
I will be calling the dealer this week to see about getting the work done. I have a Borla exhaust and hopefully they will be able to deal with that without too much trouble. Otherwise, that area of my car is all stock (other than my wheels and tires).
I sort of know the owner of the dealership. He saw my car and loved what I had done to it. He had me give him an entire "tour" of all my mods. I am going to give him a call beforehand to let him know how concerned I am over this work and ask that he put his best man (men) on the job.
I am also going to ask for the old hoses and will take pics for all to see.
I will keep you posted, and as someone else stated, "May the Force be with me!"

Nissan has to remove the tank to replace some of the hoses, this requires dropping the drive train. IMO dropping the drive and re-install should be followed by an alignment check. Well Nissan does not include the alignment in the work order for the recall. I had somewhat of bad service, they left two bolts off that held the right brake hose to the body and now drive train is making noise.
It is hard to double check service but see if the will include an alignment after dropping the drive train.

I have been told that since the entire suspension is dropped and then just "reattached" there should be no need for an alignment.
I am waiting to hear about an appointment to get this done.

Yes recall again wooot!!!
Getting my Z done as we speak. The gas tank needs to be ripped out something with the hoses or something. They leak and can sometimes cause fires. I was like hmmmmmm. Maybe i should get it fixed. They are also fixing my check engine light has been on forever. They still cant figure out what is going on. The Z family baby always in the shop.

Went to the dealer and got the voluntary hose recall done a few days ago. They said the hoses were fine. I'm surprised because my Z was built in Sept. 2002. My dealer was good gave me a rental for the day. A 06 Cobalt LS. Of course I beat the **** out of it.

I've known BMW's to be some of the most reliable cars I've ever come across. We regularly have some come into the shop with 300,000 miles with no problems. Most of the owners beat the ever loving crap out of them too.
But, I'm hopin a Z will be just fine. If it's anything like my Pathfinder I don't think you'll come across many problems with it as long as it's well taken care of.
