It's free. Warranty doesn't matter. Call up a dealer, give them your VIN and find out if you need it.

ed,

i doubt this is your problem as this recall should have been done on the car...anytime you go in for service they will pull up the vin and do the work. i thought there was another recall or fix for the gas cap problem that you are describing that is not part of this recall. this should also be free of charge.

Nothing other than maybe nicking the paint on your Brembo calipers (ask me how I know). This is all drop the rear and tank, replace hoses, very labor intensive and also if you have the rear axle click TSB issue this should fix that as they re-lube the splines when re-assembling the rear end.

Your TT has nothing to worry about here other than joy-riding mechs. And to the previous poster, I had this done at least 1-2 years ago, it's been around for awhile.

This has more to do with the evap hoses on top of the tank degrading due to heat and ozone, etc. It has zero to do with the high pressure fuel line or return.

Get it done, the reason this is so widespread is there is a remote chance of leakage or vapors igniting, that would be...unfortunate.

Just buy some touch up paint in case they are careless with your rear calipers Seriously, they're supposed to wrap them in shop towel and tie them out of the way...it's in the detailed instructions.

Steve, which dealership did this work for you?

I have an '03 (ordered March of '02) and I fall into the category for this recall. I tried to stay away from doing it but now when I fill up my tank some gas leaks down. If I keep the tank around 3/4" full I have no leak.

I'm worried about doing the recall as I've got an aftermarket exhaust and big brake kit but I can't accept this leak.

re: which dealer pm sent

Btw it almost sounds like you have a leak in the filler neck which is not unheard of, depends on where the leak is. If the breather hoses (or whatever they are called) were leaking it's more a vapor issue when stationary, maybe they'd leak under cornering, IDK.

Neither mod will matter. This is a safety recall, they will do the work. Somewhere out there my original Z (ordered Sept 2002, took delivery in Nov 02) had to get this done, too. I don't want to praise or criticize a particular dealer in public because I think each person's experience depends a lot on how they approach things and their relationship with the dealer SM - I've gotten some excellent treatment, and some less excellent. Thus the PM

No, it is still active, and you know by your VIN. Roughly speaking, all 2003-2004's. But just call a dealer and give them your VIN, they can tell you in a few minutes.

Go to: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

and punch in this number:

NHTSA Campaign ID number : 05V555000
using quick search - it will take you right to it.

I can't imagine there are any '03 or '04 Z's out there that have not had this recall work done. I think I had mine fixed in the spring of 2006.

I noticed the recall VIN #s all began with either 3T or 4T. My VIN is 4M, so does that mean my Z isn't part of the recall?

My UK 350Z fuel filler hose cracked at well over 100,000 miles and around 5 years of age. It was not covered by a European recall and I had to pay several hundred pounds to get it fixed.

Wrong. It does NOT affect ALL '03 and '04 Z's, only some.

Affects all '03 and '04 Zs and Gs. When do we get our letters?
