did you guys get valet keys w/ your Z?
I didn't get mine, and the dealership lost my other set of keys+remote.
they are ordering a new set of keys from japan..
anyway, i thought the the car comes w/ a valet key because there is a glove box behind the passenger car, can anyone verify this?
thx!

When I got my Murano, they lost a key for that one. The process is fairly quick though, the only problem is that you have to have your car in the shop with your other reg. key so they can program the chip in your new key. Do you know that, that one key costs them like $150.
Ares - Yes, you are correct about the glovebox. The idea of a valet key is that you can lock your valuables in the glove box and then give the valet who parks your car the valet key. He can open the doors and operate the car, but not get to your purse, wallet, drug stash, etc.
yep,.I got em too,..and this will be the 3rd car I've owned w/ a dmn valet key,..and I have never even used it once!!!
don't really see the point,.but I guess if you want someone to steal your car and not steal the stuff in your Glove box--- leave the valet key!!

Also, the valet key starts the car only 3 times before the regular key is needed to "reset" it. If you have a valet that stalls your car or has to move your car once or twice, your car could be stuck until you provide the regular key.

? Very interesting! Where did you get that info?
My dealer told me that, however, I just glanced over the owners manual again and I can't find any documentation to back up this claim. I guess I'll have to try it this weekend to know for sure. Sorry if this turns out to be a bogus claim.
