Default Fuel Tank Filler Neck Recall?

OK, is this real? I'm not wild about letting my local hackers tear my Z apart, to replace that filler neck. They would rip the rear end, suspension and all, off it, drop the fuel tank, replace the neck, and "try" to put it all back together again.

I garage my Z, and only drive it when it's going to be dry, and usually only when it's going to be less than sunny, or for short trips. I'm not really concerner about "normal environmental degradation," so should I take it in, and let those hackers tear my baby apart?

Wow Dave-----Are they that bad ??? I understand it can get a little messy and pungent if it fails--I have not done mine either but the reason being is I dont feel like taking it down there and if I have probs I will just do it myself. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it .

I had it done yesterday and was checking over the car once I returned home.
I had a printed copy of the recall procedure and noticed 2 covers missing from the car. I don't know if they were on to start with and that's what I want to confirm. I have an 03 Enthusiast. The covers are shown in Fig 4 and Fig 6 and are called LH/RH rear plastic under covers. Did these come with my model or were these the Track only?

Recall is:

Thanks

I declined the recall when they wanted to do it on my car at the dealership. No way am I letting my dealership pull my whole rear suspension.

Oops, I fixed the link. Do you have a Track model? The dealer says that these are the underbody diffusers that only come with the track model.

I also found this. The picture on the black Z is from the middle of the car looking towards the wheel well. It's the same part as on the instructions although that picture is taken from the outside through the wheel well. At least now I think I did not have this on the LH side. As for the RH cover, I'm still not sure. What year Enthus ?

Thanks for all the responses. I'm now convinced that the covers were not on my vehicle to start with so the dealer did not forget anything...
The 2 studs on the LH side have dirty threads. If the cover was on, they would have removed a nut and the threads would have shown some shiny metal.

Recall was done properly and nothing has fallen off the car yet...
