Default Any one ever had a bad PCV Valve on there Z

Changed mine today im hoping thats what was causing my smoking issue. I was burning oil but would only smoke in higher rpms and if i let it sit at an idle after about a 30mile trip, it would puff little bits of smoke but if I got on the gas at all it would make a medium sized cloud. Just wanting to know if anybody here has had there valve go bad? What did it do? What were the symptoms of the bad valve? How long did it take for all the smoke to burn away after the new PCV valve was installed?

I've not heard of this on a Z {especially lower mileage} but have seen it on some american made cars in the past. It will stop up or get stuck closed and build up crankcase pressure which actually pushes oil up through the rings causing pil cosumption. Yes it can happen.

If you have one of the very loose ring engines the PVC system will be overloaded from excess oil vapor under certain conditions and surely need cleaning frequently.................until you prove excess oil consumption and get your new engine.

I would check and clean at least every time the engine has consummed 4 quarts.............how much you add + how low it was at each 90 day change interval.

Are you talking about the pvc valve in on the vavle cover? The question I ask is I think I need a new one due to the car wanting to die almost everytime I come to a stop off of a heavy rpm load.. Anyone know where I can buy one from???

Would a bad pcv valve cause lots of white smoke to come out of the exhaust? When I turn on the car there's a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust.. When I drive it goes away. But once I come to a stop it starts again. Every time ...

Easy and cheap swap, just do it and see if it helps
