@9kfever:thanks for that. yes, I believe the problem involves the revup engine more that it does the non revup unit. not many here in italy, but all are revup. your car is brand new, so I shouldn't think you have a problem. people here have revups with approx 30k (kms) on the clock. we're talking 1kg every 1000kms (I'm not good with conversions). from what I have read on this forum, the problem is fairly widespread on revups. I have involved Nissan on this and should get the engine inspected. just curious to see how many of you there in the US have had a problem (considering the high number of Zs over there)

Not sure if this is caused by downshifting.
I've tracked my 06 three times with hard downshifts and the most oil it's consumed has been 0.5qts in 3000 miles. That with the car averaging 8-9 mpg at the track.
I think they are giving you a hard time. I've had warranty work done by Nissan on another vehicle and it wasn't so hard to get them to ackwoledge and resolve the issue.

emailed the guy at et and got an ok for the mini kit at 110bucks for my NA. I think it's worth a try, but I'm having my engine checked by Nissan first. I don't care what causes the problem, just want to solve it. I have not heard of a "modern" car go through 1liter of oil (1.05 of your US quarts) in approx 1000kms (600miles)
