Default Weird noise coming from under the engine?

When i start the car it sounds like theres a tweety bird chirping through my engine bay. Could it be a timing belt? Anyone know what this sound could be?

My car makes a similar sound. It isn't very loud but in my parking garage it is a lot more noticable. I think the easiest way to describe mine is it sounds like rolling a glass bottle on a table. Not vrey loud but it does have me thinking.

I have the same problem. It sounds like a squeaky pulley. It was solved once by my mechanic by using a chemical the kind of softens up the belt. It went away for a while but now is back again.

I'm pretty sure the VQ35DE uses a timing chain and not a belt....

No timing Belt !!!! What u are prob hearing is the main drive belt slipping-----Why ? U ask. Two reasons---

1. The belts cold, and as u drive it warms up and becomes "stickier"

2. U have just pulled ur Battery down by starting the Motor, and the demand for the alternator to replenish that lost voltage is causing a load. The harder ur alt. has to work, the harder it is to turn the rotor due to the increased magnetic field---Hence---Belt slippage, til it reachs its full charge and the Alt can relaxe a little.

Get a new belt like a Gator Belt and tighten it like a guitar string. Tweety will leave and nest elsewhere.

BTW----This is a quick fix that doesnt solve the prob, only hides it ---- A bar of soap on the contact area of the spinning belt does the same thing, and smells Spring Time Fresh.
