Default Wiper/Windshield light is on...

I have had my Z for about a month now and I noticed when I would turn a corner the wiper light would come on in the dash. Well it started to happen more and more and now its on almost all the time. Is this a known problem? I couldn't find anything in the search. I have 900 miles on the car so far.

Do you use the washer fluid alot try filling it and see if that helps. Maybe you have a small leak in your resivoir.

Hope this helps

Funny thing you brought this up. My problem is not really with the light or even the front wipers. My problem is everytime I get on the car pretty good, from a 0-60, or a good 60 punch, basically at any speed, the rear washer spits out fluid. I guess it is from the g-forces sucking fluid back or something. So every time I get on it I have to hit the rear wiper. And the faster I take off the more comes out. Anyone else having this problem, well not really a problem, just getting on my nerves.

Your car came with an owners manual didnt it? It means that your fluid is low.

Thank you Bobby. I was going to say something like that but I thought I would leave it to someone else. Yes if the wiper light is on, most likely you need washer fluid in the tank. DOH!!!

Maximumpwr, my rear washer does that too!!!!! Very annoying on a SB when it is clean. I haven't looked into it yet but will soon. I am waiting to see what the fix will be for the feathering issue and will try to have the rear washer repaired at the same time.

One fix for it would be to unplug the hose from the washer fluid tank. But then the sprayer would not work. Course I have never actually used the rear window washer so I am not sure if uplugging the hose would even bother me.

What does having 900 miles on your car have to do with running out of washer fluid or reading the manual? Did you notice that a little amber light that looked like a fuel pump came on at around 200miles? Sorry for being so abrupt, I was in a bad mood when I wrote that.

What I don't understand is why it turns on and off at random times and seems to be happening more often. I have only used the washer fluid one time.

The dealer most likely did not fillup your fluid in the PDI. Before the light goes on perminantly, it does go off and on. There is obviously a sensor in the tank and depending if you take a hard turn, or accellerate hard or brake hard, the fluid is either tripping the sensor or not. This happens util the level is well below the sensor, in which case the light will just remain on. It is normal. Just fill up the washer fluid tank and you will be good to go.

My wiper/washer lite came on the first week I bought the car.
I guess the car didn't come prepped with much washer fluid.
I just simply filled it up and it's solved.
