Anyone had this happen already???
Yesterday as I was driving out of my work place, I felt my tranny and acceleration lag a little bit and all of a sudden the "Engine Service Soon", "TCS OFF" and the "SLIP" lights all came on at once, and yes the lagging continued...so I pulled back to my work parking lot and shut off the car and started it again, and this time only the "Engine Service Soon" light stayed on....what was that???

I have also experienced this. It started when I had my stock rims and potenza's on and I thought it might have something to do with my feathered tires. I've replaced them and the problem still exists. I have an 03 enthusiast and I was in 5th gear doing about 45mph today and dropped it into fourth to pass another car and the slip light lit up and cut power. My tire sizes are 255/35/18 Front and 275/35/18 in the rear. I have about 5k miles on my Hawk Pads and no VDC. Should I let the dealer investigate DavesZ#3 suggestions?

Guys,
When you say it cuts power. How much power do you lose? Is it like 30% to 50% where you can still drive it safely to a gas station to restart or is it more like 80% where you are dead for sure if you are trying to cross a road with cars coming at you?
I do not have a Z, yet but I am playing with the idea of trading in my 2003 Mazda6S for one. The ironic thing about this is that my Mazda6S also do that and it has to do with the fly by wire throttle body similar to the one on the Z. Although when it goes limp, I cannot rev the car higher than 2000 rpm even with the gas pedal floored..
I thought this was just a "Ford" thing but not sure how it is for the Z?
