Just installed a Nismo clutch and flywheel. The install was straightforward and went with no problems.
Now when I try to start the car it will almost start, but then it will die. It is not throwing any codes (yet). When I unplug the Crank Position Sensor the car will start up just fine. Once I plug it back in it will not start again. I tried cleaning off the sensor because it was a little dirty/oily/greasy. But that did not help. The casing on the sensor did look scratched and scuffed when i took it out, but i didnt think much of it.
When i installed the flywheel I did make sure the little dowel rod was in the hole in the flywheel for it so I am pretty sure everything is installed correctly.
Do you guys think the sensor may be bad? Some say that the sensor needs to be lined up in the hole just perfectly and that its really sensitive to how it sits in the hole, and if its not close enough to the flywheel it wont pick up the grooves in it.
I think I am going to just buy a new sensor and work with that so I know it is good.
Does this sound feasable? I am just looking for feedback and thoughts.
*370* I know this is a long shot but I am having the same problem but I was told it was the flywheel being misaligned if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated
I have videos but they’re too big to upload
