Default wheel bearing out already?

So I heard this squeeling type noise when I get on the brakes but if I get on them somewhat hard the noise goes away. Right up until I completely stop it sounds like the front suspension is just going to fall apart. So I took it up to nissan and they said by brakes still had 80% of their life left but that the wheel bearing was in pretty bad shape. I don't understand how they can go out so early? I mean the car is a '03 but I only have 47,000 miles on it. Any one else had this problem?

tell them you want those old bearings back....don't just take their words for it. Have you ever driven the Z in a flood or something?

There is no way to tell what the original owner did with the car. Was he running fat-*** cast wheels with a crazy offset? Autocross or track fanatic? Anything is possible.

I've had two wheel bearings go bad. One at around 20k and another at 35k. I'm not sure if 60+ track days had anything to do with it or not. But the Grand Am guys have said that the stock bearings are weak.

wheel bearings are sealed anyway and the dealer has to send the busted one back to nissan since it was warranty work.

how can I determine whether my wheel hub / bearings should be replaced? They aren't making any loud noises, but the fronts don't rotate so smoothly (like when the car is on the lift), and I've been having pad knockback issues at the track (and even on the street!), and I thought it may have been related to the wheel hub or bearings.

my car sounded like the whole front end was going to fall apart! I mean whenever I slowed down it made this high pitch sound. Now my damn tranny is grinding going into third! grrr here comes another tranny....I knew I shouldn't have bought another '03.
