strange noise
so i just put on the motordyne spacer, a new strut bar, grounding kit, and changed the oil to the castrol syntec (europe brand) last night. now today when i drive, i get this strange grinding sound at low speeds/rpms (~1500-2000 when moving from a dead stop). i also notice a bit more noise from the engine (slight ticking that i didn't notice before, but i heard this happens sometimes when you switch to a synthetic). when i am at cruising speeds or just around town...no noise. the part that scares me is at WOT that grinding sound comes back or if i am in first gear...and it is very loud at these times. any ideas? need to know soon because i am not driving it until i figure this out. i reset the ECU, all of the strut bar spacers are in so no contact is made with the plenum, and i even unhooked the grounding kit to see if for some small reason, that was it. the CEL is not on, no brake smell (possible locked brake)...kinda stuck here.

at first it was too low...now too high? what the hell am i going to do? replace it? i got the greddy bar, put the spacers on and everything....****. it does make sense. how can i check to see if this is the case...short of driving with the hood up? is there a strut bar i could replace this one with that fits over the raised plenum and clears the hood?

I also got that increased ticking sound when I put the MREV2 and spacer on my car. I thought it was a sticky valve because my wife's car did not do it (we both have 06's).
I am trading in my car for an 07 so I took the MREV2 and spacer off of my car and put it on hers... Now hers ticks and mine doesn't...

When you put the strut bar back on the car, use enough spacers so it just touches the top of the plenum. Once you tighten the mounting bolts down, go ahead and tighten the tension bolt on the strut bar and you will see that the bar bows-up above the top of the plenum.

i have the greddy bar...you can't adjust it. i put the spacers under it at first (ALOT of vibration when car running), so i but the washers on the driver side like the directions said (only has noise when warmed up or in high torque situations). so should i place a larger set of washers under the driver side or place some of the same size under the passenger side? also, how much room do we have before i start hitting the hood?

so i fixed the problem...added another spacer on all 8 posts, no more problem, no hood rub either. did have a sht load of rub under the brace though...looks like someone beat the crap out of the underside of the brace with a metal file!!
