Default This door noise is driving me up the wall....

It is coming from the door jam. It sounds like the door is rubbing up against the inside of the car right by where my arm is, right below where the window starts. When I push on the door it stops. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? In my CL there was a similar problem with the sunroof and they put some clear tape on the edges and it fixed the problem.

why don't you open the door up and take a look. Theres a post here on how to do so. It might be the cables for the power window/lock or the cable for opening the door. Just pull up the arm rest part and take a peek. Just a large flathead with some tape on it and pry it up. And look/feel around to see whats loose.

I have the same problem, and when I brought it to the dealership I got that all too familiar response..."unable to detect a problem" or however they word it. I got the same response for grease streaks on the windows - service dept. said it could not find any grease. Open your friggin' eyes!!!

Is it a high piched "squeeking" noise? I have that also and it comes from somewhere in the driver side door, just behind my ear. It drives me CRAZY also, Let me know if you find a solution

Yes, I think this is exactly what I am hearing. Sounds like the weather seal is rubbing up against the door pannel or even the door itself.

Ah you noticed. I didn't like the way the back splash guards looked so I removed them. I kinda like the front splash guards so I kept them.

I have that same problem, and tried to fix it today.

The service manual has a nice list of things to check for when trouble shooting rattles, and one is the wire harness in the door.

So, I went to take off my door panel, and it wasn't five minutes before I ran into problems.

Basically, the first thing you do is pop out the cap and remore the screw that is in the drivers side door pull (not the handle, but the pocket that you use to pull the door closed). Unfortunately, my screw is somehow screwed! It was extremely tight initially, and I was thinking, "Man, the robots that assembled this door sure are strong!" Eventually I got the screw to turn, but it would never get loose. I began to have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. By this time I was getting quite annoyed and finally broke out my power drill and slowly unscrewed the screw, and still, no loosening. I then tried to tighten in again, and nothing. So now I'm basically stuck. I can't get the screw out to take off the F*CKING door panel and fix the rattle.

Anyhow, I'm going to start another thread about this to see if anyone knows what the screw attaches to. I'm guessing that it screws into a metal tab that on my car has broken loose and is now rotating with the screw. What a pain!

This sound seem to have gotten worse over the past two days. This sucks, I think it is a major deisgn flaw. I am not even sure there is a fix for this without putting in a new door panel and seal.

UPDATE:

The door now squeaks about 95% of the time when I am in the car. I can't beleive more people are not having this problem. I guess I will be the first to battle my Nissan dealer about this problem when I take it in for an oil change.

Things that need to be fixed so far...

Washer fluild emptys within a few weeks...
Driver seat moves....
Passanger window has grease streaks...
Drivers side door squeaks...

I have a problem in my driver's door; don't know if it is the same one you have. Mine sounds like a geiger counter, like a fast ticking, especially when driving on anything but the smoothest roads. It's driving me crazy. It stops when you pull in on the door. I'm taking it in to fix the streaks; I hope they can find out what's causing this.

I think I know where this coming from. The rubber stopper on the door, push/tap it with your finger and see. If not, push/tap the part of the plastic door panel next the rubber stopper. I also have this problem. So far, I have just about every problem people have listed in this forum. I am NEVER getting a Nissan. I hope NNA rep checks this site.
