Default clicking sound ?

okay here is my problem...
I got an auto Z and everytime I put the gear into "R" or "D" I always here this clicking sound @ the rear of the car ..
or when I stop and then accelerate its like a playing card is stuck between the spokes of a bicycle

could it be my tranny? or axle?

Basically the same as that TSB there, minus the 'flip 180' thing. We just zipped the axle nuts up with an impact, problem gone. I'd give it a try with yours, or at the least try re-torqueing them with a torque wrench.

we have a coupe in our dealership for the same problem, only its the 6mt. they will prob do the tsb first then if it does the same thing diag from there. But that almost sounds like the axle clicking tsb you linked to earlier.he havent encountered any quests with that problem yet, just the z's.

I just literally took mine into the shop last week because of this same problem and they fixed it up. My 06 is still under warranty so I didn't bother to ask too many questions other than if this was going to happen again over time. They claimed that regreasing it and retightening this once would fix the issue and it has.

It was really starting to **** me off as I'd only hear the sound bouncing off of objects I would drive past, but all is well now. Take it in and they'll fix it.

I just took my 03 in with this problem, my basic warranty is expired, but still have powertrain. They claim its not part of powertrain and will not fix it under warranty. Last time i checked the drive axles were part of the powertrain, am i wrong? They want 260 dollars to fix it.

I have and '05 (22-months with 8000-miles) which just started the clicking. Dealer claimed the fix fell under the 'adjustment' waranty of 12-months/12500miles (yes, it's in the manual). I showed him the TSB, but he wasn't impressed. After 15-minutes of dicussion, it wasn't worth my time. He charged me $120 to serivce both wheels. But, I understand many dealers cover this under the 5-year/60000-mile power-train. So, I suggest you talk to the dealership manager/owner. If he balks, try another dealer (if available), and then contact Nissan (number in manual). Since it's more of an annoyance, you can take time to discuss with Nissan, and not worry about break-down/other damage. Because of the TSB, I would think Nissan should reslove this farily quickly. For $120, it wasn't worth my time. Let us know how things go.

I called Nissan consumer affairs, they opened some claim for me and said they would try to resolve it by the close of business tomorrow. I think it is a load of crap. Why they won't just fix things that they didn't manufacture correctly, pisses me off. If they don't fix it, hell with them, i do almost all my own work anyway, just thought it would be nice for someone else to do the work for a change and for free.
