Default My SLIP came on for no reason tonight..

I was not accelerating, just crusing along going about 40 MPH in 4th gear while on a straight peice of road. I was only pushing the accelerator far enough in to keep me at 40mph. My car lurched at me as if I had hit the breaks and i saw SLIP appear on my dash display. I put the clutch in, then applied the breaks and the SLIP dissapeared and the car acted normal the rest of the night. Could anything be wrong or was it just an ECU brain spaz?

Sounds like you may have experienced a road kill. Feel a bump at all? Any blood on the front end, any fingernail scrape trails, any crumpled wheel-chairs in the rear view mirror?

I'd have the dealer check out the system.

Nope, not a single bump or anything. Like I said, was just crusing and it suddenly felt like it was pulling a truck..

Pulling of the truck syndrome... AKA - the TCS (VCS) whatever... killed the power... so no matter what you do, it won't accelerate past granny mode.

It's common for 4th gear if you are pushing it and hit something like a man-hole (aka - sewer access cover).

I bet you $5 if you drive that same area and do the same thing, you'll notice something that would cause your tire to loose a teeny bit of traction.

All things considered - I wouldn't worry about it... expected behavior from a TCS system, it makes mistakes.

Actually checked that earlier today. All four tires were about 32psi and I used my compressor to bump them to 35psi. Hope that helps.

If they were all 32 that shouldn't be a problem.

I got a nail and a leak in one of the rear tires and it made the slip light come on.

The only time I get slip light is going over bad railroad track crossings or going over potholes or roads at differenet levels.

This information is helpful when troubleshooting. I do not have the faintest idea what you drive.
