Issue with my new (to me) Z. Dealer issues as well.
So I purchased a used 06' Silverstone 350z from Concord Honda last Tuesday (09/18). I started noticing some noise coming from the driver side door, at first it was faint and intermittant then after a while it became louder and more consistent.
I go and check the door and notice a small 1/2cm gap between the A Pillar panel and the windshield/door. It was so small that it took me a few tries to locate the issue.
I take the car to my local Nissan dealership (Dublin) and they tell me that the windshield had been replaced and that the part was no longer under warranty. They are asking $629 to replace it. I decide to call up Concord Honda to see if they would reimburse me or take the charge.
They tell me to bring it into their dealership to have them take a look at it. However, over the phone the salesman was already trying to skirt responsibility for it saying that he wouldn't know if it was stock or not.
When I purchased the car I noted an AEM intake, so I then proceeded to ask if anything else was aftermarket or had been replaced. They told me aside from the intake everything was stock.
I was curious to see if anyone had run into similar issues, not with the same are of the car but situation as me and what was the end result?
I'm planning on bringing the car in this Saturday and would like to be prepared so, I'd also like to get other forum members opinions/suggestions on what to do.
Thanks guys, other than the wind noise the car is wonderful.

I'm thinking that the previous owner hit a rock or something while driving and cracked the windshield. Took it somewhere to get repaired and then the body shop didn't reattach the a pillar correctly. It also could have been replaced at the dealer as they may have thought that the windshield was in bad condition and would make it difficult to sell unchanged.

A) Usually all used cars from franchise dealerships has some limited warranty, whether it be 30 or 90 days. Regardless of what the issue may be (read the contract to be sure) they will fix any problem you can find on it. I bought my 350z from Longo Toyota and took it in for every minor thing that came up, they fix/replaced/ or said nothing is wrong. If you have no warranty and you bought the vehicle "as is" ..then you are SoL. Even if the salesman said it was stock and say it does have aftermarket parts...the contract is still greater than the salesmans word. Depending on the state you live in...even if there is no warranty there is a "lemon law" that requires them to take back the car if there is a major defect or they can fix the problem. Considering the windshield is actaully part of safety and a potential hazard it could fall under that category. Good luck.
I have to take my car in for a slight rattling noise when I have the a/c on and a slippage between 2nd and 3rd gear...which seems to be a well known problem for the z. =/

So I just got back from the dealership which actually went well for me. I walked up to the service desk and explained to them my situation. I had him look up in their records if they had sent the car in to replace the windshield. He looked up my car's service records and it turns out that they did replace my windshield.
Due to this, they will take full responsibility and pay to replace the a pillar. So this week I will be taking my car in and getting a brand new a pillar.
However, upon doing some inspection of my car I found two HUGE scratches on my rear passenger rim!
I deduce that it was caused by someone when I brought my car in to get inspected at Dublin Nissan! Has this happened to anyone before? I mean I love my car but, these first two weeks have been crazy for me!
Do you think Dublin Nissan will replace my rim? Or will they just polish it and send me on my way? Perhaps they'll fight me and contend that I did it myself.
