Default Third times a charm (tranny)

03 touring z, 1st tranny started grinding bad in 3rd around 20k miles. NIssan replaced free of charge.

at 40k on car about 15-20k miles no tranny 6th gear is grinding.

Cars at dealer now getting another tranny and clutch in it.

Im hoping this one is good, b/c once im over 60k miles not sure if ill be as lucky as to get a new tranny everytime it starts to grind.

Any thoughts on this?

I have the same problem with my 04, but i got the warranty up to 100k with no deductible. I have to take it back to the dealership yet again. I think that I have about 10k on the tranny in my car now. lets see if they can get it right the second time. it grinds in just about every gear. not good. o and i have just over 60k on the motor.

did you get a 009 tranny put in the 1st time, you can check your service records and those are the last 3 digits in the part number.

Im picking my Z up today, as far as the 009 is that an improved tranny or the one i should beware of?

JUst picked up my Z, IT does have the 009 in it and a new clutch assembly. IT shifts much smoother and the clutch pedal feels so light. Will take some time to get use to. I hope the 009 is the updated tranny. Whats different about it then the older ones? Assuming 009 is the updated one.

009 is the newer transmission they started installing. there was a giant 40 page thread around here somewhere about all the transmission issues.

Just wondering if anyone had any idea if an aftermarket clutch and flywheel voids the tranny warranty.

NOt sure on this one. I would assume it would depend on the dealer. Goodluck.
