Just came back from the dealer, test drove da Z. It is AWESOME!!! I want to get 2004 model, at least I wanted till today but the sales guy said that in 2004 Nissan is going to produce only convertables. Is it true or he just wants to F*CK me over? Please, let me know if you know for sure what does Nissan planned for 2004. Appriciate all the help.

I can say that there is a 99% chance there will be a 2004 coupe. Nissan isnt stupid enough to discontinue a hotselling coupe for a risky convertible option only. It could happen but i really dont think it will.

When Nissan announced the roadster they said something to the effect of In 2004 there will be a roadster added. I forget the exact wording but there was nothing to indicate that they would stop selling the hard top.
My guess is that your dealer (who sucks) has a bunch of 2003 Zs that he is looking to unload at a high price. If he tells you there are no 2004 coupes coming he thinks he can bend you over on a 2003. He is trying to make a leftover in to a rare item.
I wouldn't bother going back to correct him. I would just go find a new and more honest dealership.

Just hung up the phone after speaking with Corporate Office of NNA. All the models will be available + the convertable. The dealer who missinformed me is in trouble
and they lost a potentual customer. The lady who was helping me said that it would've been very helpful if all the customers complained about dealers' missleading information so they could take care of them. All and all I am happy - got to drive a Z and if all goes well will get '04 Performance Superblack. For all of you Zless people check out this site, believe me after reading through it you might change the way you buy cars.

MadMax76 you got that right!
Great site, and it will point you to http://www.fightingchance.com
Excellent info to pass on to family and friends
I just did my version of "fax attack" today and emailed and used online forms to contact about 20 dealers, inquiring about ordering a 2004.
Already got a nice list of who wants my business. Now lets see who wants it most

FYI, the motley fool site (www.fool.com) has a section on car buying that includes the fax attack system. The car buying worksheets even contain a "form" fax letter. Good resource...

Max:
Two dealers for you. I highly recommend either of them:
1. Campbell-Nelson Nissan in Edmonds.
2. Nissan of Fife.
Period. Best dealers in the western side of the state. Also, if you want to go east, Jaremko Nissan in Spokane will hook you up.
My guess - you went to Pacific or Burien Nissan. Either way - stay away in the future, even for service. I travel from Seattle to either Fife or Edmonds just because of the service.
At least Campbell-Nelson bought out Town & Country/Northwest Nissan. That alone was a blessing to Seattle Nissan owners.

Z33Fan,
appriciate your referral. I live about 5 min away from Nelson-Campbell Nissan in Edmonds and they refused to let me test drive da Z unless I give them my credit history, that's why I went to Performance Nissan in Everett. They did ask for anything, although I did let them to believe that I was ready to by a car for 35Gs
.
I stopped by Campbell Nissan and talk to sales reps quite a few time already. From the conversations with them it seams like they don't want to go below MSRP, but from many people, including the credit union, I hear that MSRP is too high of a price to pay. Do you have any idea if they go below MSRP? What about the other dealership that you mentioned will they go under MSRP?
I don't know if your are the member of the NWDE (North West Datsun something), but they are holding an autocross event at the Boing Parking Lot on the 15th of June. I will be hanging there at least half a day. If you want to come over you can look up information on http://www.wwscc.org/ and click on Calendar.
Thanks again for the info.

You just got a bad sales person, at Campbell Nissan, ask for Allen Kemper, tell him Kylan Kendrick sent you. I sell Toyotas, and he's very fare; I've known him for years. The problem is, so many people just want to drive the Z and have no intentions of buying one at all. This causes some of the most wonderful cars to have over 150 miles on them when the new owner takes his new baby home. I wouldn't be thrilled with a ton of miles on my new Z... how many times did they smoke the tires or the clutch??? How many bad trannys out there are because of a horrible joy ride session at the expense of a wonderful Z by some kids that can barely drive a stick. I've seen people come back after being let out alone in a stick come back and the tranny is wining... not good. I bought mine off the showroom floor with barely any miles on it. Not one mechanical issue, other then rattles
