i don't see how it being blue matters. But 03-05 hids aren't ever bright anyways.

I am not aware of HIDs changing color or deteriorating over time.

its probably your eyes, but in any fashion you can purchase a higher output bulb which can make it "more blue" and brighter at the same time. Look around you can find something. Wont cost you that much on the scheme of things.

well the dealer told me that when the bulb is getting ready to burn out that they will start dimming and turning a slight redish color. When it does that it means the bulbs are ready to burn out soon so i think i might need new bulbs

I thought the same thing with my 04 a long time ago. I solved that problem by upgrading to the 06's! It's probably your imagination, but it wouldn't hurt to upgrade to a higher output bulb. They're cooler anyway!

let me try to explain a few things here.

HID capsules actually dim slightly over time. They colorshift as they age. This is a normal characteristic and it will actually make the light more blue as it ages. The real reason you see blue with most HIDs, is because the surrounding light is so much more yellow it makes the light off your headlamps look blue. On full projector setups, there are other reasons for the color you are seeing, but in reference to the 03-05 headlamps, the reason is in the surrounding light. HID capsules should last at least 5 yrs, and upwords of 10, so I doubt they need to be replaced yet.

actually yest it will 'hurt'. just by moving to a 6000K bulb, he will have lost 20% of his light output. And no, they are not cooler
