Default OIl PSI question!?!?!

Sorry for not searching guys I know I usually tell people to but I dont have time right now.

I just had a new non rev up engine put in on my 05 and in the last two weeks my PSI has slowly been going down. Now when I sit at idle it is almost at 15 psi is that normal or am I just freaking out.

Thanks in advance
Alex

alright so I am fine with it sitting at 15 psi I never really payed attention to it before until after I got my new engine put in.

I would have checked the manual but the previous owner must have got rid of it

what oil do you run? 0w40 made my psi 20-25.. 10w40 im at 30-35psi.. I usually idle at 30psi... But yes it could be that low.. Sounds pretty low to me though...

Just make sure your oil levels are good...Do you know if the new motor has a oem size oil filter or does it have a bigger one. Sometimes that makes the oil pressure a little off.

with oil pressure that low at idle your idle must be irractic? Even with 5-30RP i idle once fully warmed at around 25-30psi. 30psi solid with the a/c on. I would check your oil level make sure it isn't low.

Well I thought it was my oil level so then I went and got my oil changed because it was time anyways. It still stayd around 15-20 PSI at idle.

I use regular oil filter and 5w-40 mobil 1 synthetic oil

Seems a little low but as long as your levels check out, I wouldn't worry.

Just changed my oil the other day (M1 5w30 Synthetic) and mine idles a little higher than that... somewhere around 25 I believe. Personally I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Headers and test pipes and now you're burning oil?

With regular oil changes I've seen alot of people run low (around 10 or 15psi). I really don't think it's anything to worry about. However, recently starting to burn oil is something to worry about.

How long have you owned the car? What year?
