Default Check engine light-rough running-Autozone

In the last 24 hours i had the oil and filter changed and i cleaned the popcharger. I also cleaned the MAF sensor.

Today i go out and notice the car is idling rough. Cuts off on me at the stoplight. Starts right back up. Continues doing this. Runs fine though when driving.

Go to Autozone-to have it tested. This is what comes back for "Bank 1 and Bank 2":

Definition: Intake Valve Timing (IVT) control circuit failure.

Probable Causes:

1: IVT Control solenoid open or shorted
2: Cam/Crank sensoprs out of phase
3: Dirt buildup at control valve

Okay guys, what can i do? Can i check any of this myself or i just go straight to the dealership? Thanks in advance!

Make sure you put the MAF back in correctly.

Anyone have any idea where the intake valve timing control is located? How about the camshaft position sensor? Im going to start with these. Car is idling so rough the engine is shaking.

If i had to take a guess, i would say that some of the cleaner got on the MAF and its not getting good readings. You said you cleaned it so ???

Who changed the oil on it?

I used the CRC MAF cleaner and its never given me any trouble before. I think this time it was just more of a coincidence that all this happened at the same time but i dont know? My local mechanic changed the oil. I looked at the oil level and its fine and oil is clean so i know it was changed.

I reset the ECU this afternoon and the engine light went off and it seemed to run fine until it warmed up and then the trouble started all over again. It does fine until letting off the gas and coming to a stop-the car doesnt like that. Im gonna reset the ECU again and tomorrow im just gonna take it on a freeway ride instead of this stop and go intown crap and see if she settles down.

I'd love to find out there the IVT control solenoid is located and the camshaft position sensor as well and i could look at them.

Well, took the car on a nice 45 minute freeway run this morning and it ran perfect...no check engine light. Came back home and had to go through a short series of red lights and sure enough once i had to stop, every time i pushed in the clutch the RPMs dropped and it dies. Starts right back up everytime but the CEL is back on. Also, the car runs fine at idle until its warm and then it acts up.

Code is P0011 for the camshaft sensor or the IVT control but not sure which.

the solenoid is right beind the timing cover. I had a G35 with the same problem last week remove and see if they are clogged also check your oil level. I ended up replacing the solenoid on both sides to be safe and it fixed the problem. There are little screens that get clogged up. When you rev it you have more oil pressure than you do at idle thus causing the ivt not to work correctly.

Thanks for the tip. I cleaned my throttle body with Deep Creep and reset the engine light using the technosquare method and today the car is running great. no more stalling in neutral. I will check the solenoids though as you said because this could happen again.
