The low tire pressure indicator light won't turn off. My tires are good and air is fine. How do i turn this thing offf.

 

You have to drive over 16mph for a while with correct tire pressures. It doesn't just turn itself off. Go take a drive on the highway. It might take up to 15 miles.

If there was a problem with the system it would blink.

 

Dead Sensor?

 

it has to be broken.....is there a code to get rid of that thing or do i have to bring it to nissan

 

Usually if you turn the car off and back on it will go away. But, your sensor is messed up. Only reason I know is because I was having problems with mine recently.

At least you knew what the light meant, I totally didn't. Dealer fix if under warranty or they'll do it for free if they aren't biiacthss

I have one that flashes -- because I'm sure I lost that sensor (LR tire). But, when I air up the rest of them properly, the light goes off. I'm not 100% sure but I believe that it recognizes a dead sensor and takes it out of the equation. Again, I could be wrong because my other rear tire is showing 30 and the light is on so I can't confirm it until I get home and air it up.

 

My light comes on after about an hour of driving on the highway on longer trips. I have checked the pressure and its always around 35, hot or cold. Also my tire pressure doesnt show up on the drive computer display.
Sorry I have no answers, just more problems....

This is a common problem as well, especially with the older model Z's. My light also comes on after about 45mins of continuous driving, for no apparent reason. It resets once the vehicle is shut off then restarted. All my sensors read correct too. It doesn't bother me much anymore...

 

Every once in a while, and I mean rarely, my front right sensor goes to 0 and the indicator comes on.

After the car is turned off and started again, everything goes back to normal.

I'm new to this forum. I own a 2004 and it has LMGT4 rims that came with the car when I bought it about 3 years ago.

I apologize if the topic has been covered, and I read a lot on that matter but in my case, I had the tire pressure warning light ON and it would beep 3 times for at least 10 seconds each. My pressure readings on the dial was around 27psi.

I then inflated the tires to around 32psi and the beeping has now stopped, but the warning light is still showing in the cluster (not blinking though).

If one of my sensor has gone bad, why am I still able to get the pressure readings for each tire?

TPMS WARNINGS are triggered when the pressure delta between the nominal pressure drops by ~25% give/take.

Pressure READINGS aren't affected by the warning event.

Warning light SHOULD go off after driving for a while and the system normalizes. If it doesn't within about 20-25 miles of steady driving, take it in to a tire shop and have the TPM sensors read. That will identify which one or ones of the sensors may be bad.

As was noted in another thread yesterday, any Z33 is between 9 and 14 years old.... long enough for batteries in the sensors to finally give up the ghost.

I will try to drive for a little longer than my usual route a see if the warning goes away. I'm glad that by inflating the tires to passed 30 psi removed the super annoying beeps..

Also, I read in another post that if a sensor has to be replaced, I have to have the system reset in order to recognize the new sensor(s) ID. Is this correct?

Yes, the new sensors need to be "married" to the ECM via the CANBUS but that's something the installers will do. IIRC, if you buy factory sensors (very few do), this can be avoided (sometimes) but the ones on Amazon or wherever are cheaper, do the same job and once installed and "calibrated", you should be able to just put it behind you.

I'm having a similar issue, nearly every time I drive. Low pressure warning light illuminates after about 10-15 minutes of driving. Good to know it seems like a fairly simple and inexpensive fix.

 

Quick update,

I put some air into the 4 tires which apparently needed it and the 3 beeping after the first mile of driving has now disappeared.

That being said, the warning light on the dash, even if it was gone for a little bit has now come back. I definitely think that one or several sensors are deficient because all my TPMS readings are at 33psi all around.

I will have them checked and/or I will buy new ones and have them married to the system.
It was mentioned that after market sensors work just as fine as the OEMs, is this correct?

Any tire store can just put a scan tool up to the tire to see what the batteries look like on the TPMS sensors. I have an Autel TPMS tool for this, but it's a bit pricey for the number of times you'll ever use it.

At least you'll know if it's a battery issue and a lot of tire stores will do the service for free.
