I took mine in a few weeks back for this recall. So far, the "Airbag Off" light has come on only 1 time with my gf in the seat, versus every time before the recall. So I guess it worked?

I first saw this recall notice when I logged into my Progressive account. I had my car in to get new tires and asked them to check for the recall notice. They said there were no recalls on my vehicle so I guess mine wasn't one of the vehicles. I might print out the notice on Progressive and bring it in next time.

What is this gay stuff?? What should I do?
I know this was posted over a month ago, but if it helps, I had the same problem on my 2007 when I used the auto up on the drivers side, for the passenger side, the window would go up and then come back down about 3-4 inches. They took the door all apart and didn't find anything so they just reflashed the sensor/motor and it has been working perfectly ever since. I hope this helps!

How would I know if this has been done or not? Would it be on CarFax?

I know what you mean, good luck...i have the same issue and they told me the same thing, my car's vin does not fall on the range.
However whenever my gf is in the car, the damn light comes on. I already had one accident with her in the car, luckily we avoided a direct head on hit but can you imagine if we hadn't.
We ride as little as needed in my car now together, if we both have to go somewhere we mostly use her car.

i'll have to ask the dealership about this, just bought a 2007 base model, pass. airbag light goes on and off even with my g/f in the pass. seat............but then again she only weighs about 98 lbs. but i would think that should be enough to trigger it.

Having the same issue with my 03 model 350Z the dealer suggested I pay $1000.00 for a new airbag I just as well disconnect the entire system , Nissan has a serious issue with the electrical systems in many of their vehicles , the dealer mentioned it is due to the climate in Canada, right .

I have this issue in my 07', but Nissan is saying my VIN isn't affected by it. Anyone run into this and still got dealer to address it?

No luck for me... in my 07, i definitely have the issue but they claim my VIN is not in the range and refuse to do it. I had one guy form service try it but of course fat guy definitely tripped the sensor enough to turn the air bag on. Luckily my gf is not often in my car but it is still worrisome when she is

lets revive this thread... my apologies..

a couple of days ago i noticed when i dropped off my SO at her place that the seatbelt light stayed on... confused i unbuckled and buckled my belt. the light stayed on. so i buckled the empty passenger seat and the light went away.. unbuckled and it came back on.. turned off the car and turned it back on and it was back to normal BUT thats when i noticed the airbag light above my reaview mirror.

whats supposed to happen [ correct me if im wrong] is that if there is no passenger, the light illuminates "passenger airbag off", which makes sense and when there is a passenger that light turns off. the light illuminates when i first turn on the car and then turns off shortly after.

now that i have no passenger, that light is off [ so i guess it thinks theres a passenger sitting ] ...my question is would this fall under the recall? i have an 08 touring. i read the link in the beginning of this thread and any search i made, i found aftermarket questions and a crushed sensor etc..
