Default That damn ticking noise in the hatch ...

I will refer this to here: Rattle in rear thread I know the noise is coming from inside the stabilizer brace thingie in the rear. The cord seems to be bouncing around inside the arced plastic piece. I've tried pulling/rearranging the inside release cord, but the ticking noise always come back (when I go over a bump). Should I just shove some cloth in that little hole? I hate this noise! Help me! Thanks.

Join the crowd. This noise is EVIL. My local dealer though they had it solved...........NOT. It returned the next morning. I am going into the strut brace this weekend if I get a chance....remove panels and start putting padding in there. I tried stuffing cloth up in the hatch release area and that didn't seem to work. By the way, how did you isolate it to the strut tower? I hear the noise but I have only been able to generalize it to the rear area not anywhere specific. I don't know anyone small enough to ride back there to really put their ears on the source.

I have real sensitive ears ... I know exactly where every noise comes from in my car. The sound is from the cord bouncing up and down in the left side of the strut brace. I want to take the panels off but 1) I don't know how and 2) I'm afraid I'll break or damage something if I do. So throwing a cloth in there doesn't work?? Maybe we can pin the cord to the bottom/top inside the strut brace with something ... that will maybe secure the cord and stop it from bouncing??
