Red face Damn it!

Ok, the car only has 110 miles on it, 70 when I bought it (see sig). As I was driving today, I started hearing this grinding noise coming from the front right side. At first it was only coming when I was going around 10 mph, then it started getting louder and louder. It's like taking a fork or metal object and putting it against the rotor while driving..like a loud as hell grinding noise (like KRRRSSHH)... Now, even driving around block at 20 mph, you can hear the car coming...Any ideas on what it could be?? I tried searching but most people get it either when turning or backing up, but in my case it's consistent. I will be taking it in tmw, hopefully it isn't something major!

Yea, it is very annoying. It's a super loud grinding noise that you can hear from far away. Unfortunately I'll have to drive on the freeway to get to the dealership, I hope the wheel doesn't roll off, lol jk. But yeah, it's very disappointing. Damn it!!!

Don't know. You have to put the car on a lift and look at it. We have had several new 2008 owners replace wheel bearings.

Does the sound change depending on the speed you are moving? I am assuming there isn't anything visible that is dragging/scraping/ect.

Let us know what the dealer finds.

I will definitely let you guys know what they find. It's strange because I am driving the car normally, not flooring it or doing anything stupid, and the sound starts coming out of nowhere all of the sudden. I checked for possible objects that might have gotten stuck but found nothing (I was only driving around the neighborhood).
Yes, the sound changes depending on the speed. The slower you go, the lower the scraping noise. The faster you go, the louder it gets. When you take your foot off the gas and cruise, you can hear that consistent screeching sound. My friend could hear my Z coming from a block away. The sound remains until you come to a dead stop and starts again when you take off. Wtf!

From my past experiences. The only close sounds I could think of would be loose lug nuts or loose belts. But it doesn't sound like loose belts and loose lug nuts would sound more like a clunk.

The engine does make whining noises but they sound normal. I don't think it's the lug nuts because it's a super loud sound, you can hear the car coming from a distance. Who knows? Hopefully they find and fix the problem tomorrow. =(

Pebble caught between the caliper and rotor. Usually once you backup, it comes out.
