Engine stalls on start up - plz help - with video
My '03 Z has been sitting in my garage for the last 6 months and now the weather is getting a little better, I decided to do some minor tune ups before I put her on the road. I did the basic, Oil change, air/oil filter. Checked all my fluids to see if anything needed be topped off.. anyways, When I fire her up the first time, everything was good...I decided to take her out for a couple spin around my neighbourhood. After doing so, I parked her back in the garage and waited till tomorrow to do other stuff (cleaning etc...) the next day, when I started her up, the engine would start but then the rpm meter will quickly drop back down to 0 and the engine comes to a halt. I've searched around the forum, that it could be the spark plugs with oil in them, or it could be the fuel injectors being rusted up for sitting for so long ...but they were fine the last summer. Anyone else have similar problem? there are no CEL code that lights up. dunno:
Here are videos if it makes it more clearer. is this due to bad gas??

a shot in the dark here but by any chance you unplug the negative part of the battery? if so then you must have resetted the ecu.
and you might have to do a relearn.
oh and all this applies to manual only

I'm pretty sure that disconnecting the battery actually resets the ECU all by itself. And it doesn't matter whether it is MY or AT. I agree with bad gas, especially if he did not use Stabil or something similar.

OK. but that has never happened to me either. Actually I have a high idle problem right now and even when I do the ECU AND TB Idle learning reset, it doesn't last. Might have a vacuum leak or something. Sorry to go OT here...

yah when i stored the Z i unplugged the battery, but I put the battery back in a couple of time to start her up twice in those 6 month that it was stored. The start up was good. I'm just hoping its the gas problem, cuz i didnt put any fuel stablilizer. Lets see what happens with a fresh tank of gas. Appreciate all the tips guys...Thanks

Mine had the same problem last month when I started driving it when I was home from school since it was nice. A friend said it could be the throttle positioning sensor going bad. I've been driving it tho lately and took it to the track and haven't have any problems. I think it just needs driven a bit.

I currently have this problem as well, just brought it out today and it happened. Samething happened last year but I forget how I dealt with it last year lol. When it would come closr to stalling, i would just rev it up a bit and then it would be good...
