Look in this thread. I know a few guys said they did them for their friends or other members so you could PM one of them and see if they will do it for you. I was doing them for about 30$ per motor but with time constraints with my clinic it just isn't worth my time anymore unless you are willing to wait until December.

 

@Binder From that link you posted; which brushes do you recommend? One window is giving me a problem so I'd figure might as well do both.

 

Just fixed my window. It was easy 7.00 brushes, around 10 for a desoldering iron.

Works good now. Much faster. Only hard part for me was desoldering. Pretty easy fix.

 

Sorry I missed this. Any of those sites will have quality brushes which will work great. I just listed a few in case some went out of stock.

 

@binder man i appreciate your how-to. not the easiest fix if you dont know how to solder but after a little melted plastic and a burned finger lol i got this done. not to hard if your a DIY kind of person. hardest part i had was soldering back the main two wires. took about 3-4 hours, thats with frustration breaks. but anyways thanks again man!! Terminator window works perfect now

I didn't use 540 brushes, I used some that are found in most any electric motor similar to the window. I got mine from an alternator and started shop, just had to sand down the brushes and fanigle the whole unit back together. If you follow the pics you shouldn't have a problem. It's a pretty easy fix if you have any sort of electrical knowledge

 

upright 540 brushes are the closest fit.

I'm pretty sure the links i posted were directly to the size of brushes needed.

None taken and I did see the post before. Wanted to see which specific ones members had installed rather than just finding a generic pair. There are different strengths and materials they are made of so I was looking for one that someone had specifically installed and used with success themselves.

 

thanks a ton for this binder and j3dz for the write up. My solders definitely werent pretty but my window finally works again after like 3 months without it, now i can go through drivethru's without having to jump outta the car lol. I just hope it never goes out ever again

Oic, I'm not sure about the ones I'm using. They were just standard brushes. I asked for the cheapest ones our hobby shop had. LOL. Seemed to do the trick. The more expensive "race" brushes usually have specific cuts on the face of the brush and they are a softer material for better contact. That in turn means they will wear down faster. Either way they will last much longer than the OEM brushes.

 

Will these work?

 

They say they are "stock" which is an upright brush (taller than wider) but the picture looks like they are lay down style (wider than taller). Pictures can be deceiving. If they are lay down then you can use a round sanding bit on a dremel to make the surface round in the stand up configuration.

 

Thanks to the OP'r. I just replaced my motor with an oem nissan motor for $160. B/c I had ordered it before seeing this post. But now I'm going to rebuild my original for a spare. Ordered the brushes for $6 ill let you guys know how it goes when I finish.
